We have had a wonderful few days in Trevone staying at Garendon. Thank you for all of your amazing organisation; it made our stay a delight. The house is so well furnished and maintained, wonderfully comfortable beds, fluffy towels, everything in the kitchen to make and enjoy meals - first class all round. We trust that you found everything in order after we left this morning - we were sorry to leave! Thank you again, we would recommend your company to anyone for its high standards and we commend your organisation. All aspects of Garendon exceeded our expectations and your high standards were truly appreciated.
The Forsyth Family, Devon – May 2013
We all thoroughly enjoyed our week. Garendon is in a near perfect situation for walking, and we only used the cars once, for a day at the Eden Project. We were extremely fortunate with the weather, warm and sunny and totally unlike this week. We walked east on the coast path to Stepper Point and along the estuary to Padstow, then inland to Trevone via Crugmeer; west around Trevose Head and on to Constantine Bay before returning by lanes and footpaths inland; and to Pastow, ferry to Rock, and a circular walk taking in St Enedoc Church and John Betjeman's grave. That occupied 3 longish mornings, and the afternoons were spent on the beach at Trevone, where we enjoyed excellent surf, the use of the kayak, and helped the 2 young grandsons with general engineering works in the sand, damning sections of the stream. The hot tub was in use every day after the beach; it was hard to drag the grandsons out after their allotted time. Our last full day we walked to Padstow and hired bikes and cycled all the way to Wenford Bridge - stopping for coffee at the Camel Valley tea room on the outward journey, lunch on the return leg, and then a further stop at the Camel Valley Vineyard for a bottle for our evening meal. We finally emerged after a generous wine tasting with 4 bottles, including their excellent world award winning Rose fizz... NB Hire bikes do not have comfortable saddles, and it was quite a relief to return to Trevone from Padstow on 2 legs.
We loved the layout of Garendon, especially the open plan middle floor. The view to the beach from the Snug area was special, and the huge round table for eating (and another on the decking outside) left us with no desire to book a restaurant meal. We took turns in cooking and ate rather well! Your Welcome pack was generous and much appreciated, and we had arranged an internet delivery to cover food for the week; a little planning was required to collate proposed menus and ingredients from the various cooks. The boys much enjoyed the choice of toys and books - We never bothered unpacking the toys that we had brought down for them. In fact there wasn't a single thing we needed at any time during the week that wasn't provided.I'm sure you get the general idea we had a very happy week, and I wouldn't hesitate to book a Perfect Stays property another year.
The Cahill Family, Devon - October 2012
We stayed in Garendon house in August for a week. A stunning house in an equally stunning location. From the moment we arrived the house took our breath away particularly the amazing kitchen (the welcome pack with scones was a lovely touch). Everything was thought of and everything we needed was on hand, the wetsuits and bodyboards in the garage were used everyday! We all loved the views of the sea and having the beach on the doorstep was ideal for the younger members of the family. Exploring the local area we found the Cornish Arms which served fantastic sea food and we were even lucky enough to see Rick Stein enjoying a drink there. Overall a faultless property with perfect stays going above and beyond expectations! We would recommend this property to any family looking for the perfect stay!
The Gripton Family - Birmingham - August 2012
Beautiful & spacious house with stunning views of Trevone bay and the rather splendid sinkhole! The house is incredibly well equipped with everything you could need including picnic paraphenalia, games, wetsuits, towels for the hot tub and includes a very thoughtful welcome package of delicious scones, breakfast items, milk, tea and coffee. I would thoroughly recommend this house to anyone and will be planning my next visit soon!
