Tregonna House, nr Padstow in North Cornwall, is a large and beautiful Grade 2 listed property that recently underwent a 12 month renovation and refurbishment. Situated in Little Petherick, just 5 minutes from Padstow and it's superbly located to take advantage of all the North Cornwall coast as well as 8 great beaches within 15 minutes.
Tregonna House was bought during 2009 by the current owners. It was then lovingly restored over a 12 month period and it has retained much of its beautiful period charm, as well as embracing a number of modern necessities.
It is a large stylish property with a large kitchen/breakfast room with Aga, utility, simply stunning wet room, sumptuous lounge with fireplace and wood burner, traditional conservatory, dining room, four beautiful bedrooms, luxury bathroom and a very large enclosed garden with two gated entrances.
It's a great house for families as the house is well organised and the kitchen/breakfast room is great for family dining and socialising! The large gardens are also enclosed and gated at both side of the house. The house vibe is very much a relaxing one and the guest feedback of this house is excellent. Once you open the large front door into Tregonna House, you immediately step into a beautiful Grade II listed property that has been lovingly restored and furnished to a very high standard.
Kitchen / Breakfast Room / Pantry
A large sized room with the original slate flagstone floor, table & chairs (8) as well as a welcoming 2 oven gas Aga. The traditional style kitchen and dresser unit are painted blue and the well equipped kitchen facilities include; Dishwasher, single oven, gas hob, microwave, ceramic sink and an extractor unit. One of the doors lead into a Pantry where the fridge freezer is located and some household items are stored. You can still see the original meat hooks by the window!
Utility Room & Downstairs Cloakroom
Large slate floored utility room with underfloor heating, washing machine, tumble drier and some fitted kitchen cupboards. THere is a door into a downstairs cloakroom and toilet.
There are wet rooms and then there is the wet room at Tregonna! Orginally this was a single storey outbuilding that served no real purpose so the conversion into a simply stunning and large wet room was an inspired idea. It's also very practical as you can pitch up from the beach, walk straight into the wet room from outside and wash off all the sea and sand under the two drench showerheads that are built into the ceiling. You can also hang all your wet suits on the hooks and let them be dried via the under floor heating and the beach towels can go on the heated towel rail.
A beautiful light, classical and stylish lounge which still boasts the original fireplace that now has a log burner in situ.(logs are provided) See if you can work out the coat of arms! There are French doors that lead out onto the external paved area where people normally barbeque and dine and there is also another door into the wooden conservatory.
This is a great conservatory in a traditional style with a lovely slate floor. You can sit in the conservatory and chill out whilst reading a book and look out across Tregonna's grounds.
Another beautiful room with its twin entrance doors, original wood shutters and feature fireplace. The dining room accomodates up to 8 guests.

A large and beautiful bedroom which has a 5ft bed, 2 x bedside cabinets, double wardrobe, dressing table and mirror. There are also two windows that overlook the gardens at opposite ends.
Another light and airy bedroom with a 5ft bed, drawr unit, bedside cabinets, built in wardrobe and bedroom seat. There is also a feature fireplace (not to be lit) which helps make this bedroom feel cosy.
A snug bedroom with two 3ft beds, bedside cabinet, drawer unit and a mirror.
Another lovely twin bedded bedroom (2 x 3ft beds) with views across the front garden and down into the rear back lane. There are two bedside cabinets, drawer unit and a mirror.
This is a really superb bathroom with feature designer bath and wall mounted fittings, large walk in shower enclosure, twin undermounted wash basins, granite topped vanity units, large mirror and a toilet with concealed cistern.
We find that a number of guests sometimes go downstairs to shower in the magnificent wet room as its very large and very practical.

With its large enclosed garden that can be accessed and shut off via two sets of double gates, Tregonna House offers a lot of external space.
Alfresco Dining & Barbeque
Outside the kitchen is a paved and sheltered area that has a wicker type table and chairs, together with a gas barbeque. This is a great place to enjoy cooking and eating outdoors.
Within the grounds there is a old Dovecote that does not house any pigeons or doves. Children love hiding in here!!!
You can quite easily park four cars on the gravel driveway although you may have to move them about a bit if the person in the middle wants to get out.
The garage is not offered as part of the rental.

Changeover Day: Saturday for peak periods, flexibility at other times and for short breaks & special occasions.
Arrival & Departure: Arrival from 4:30pm, departure by 10:00am.

We had a great time at Tregonna House. The house is beautiful and in excellent condition, having recently been renovated, with a nice big kitchen and brand new wet room. There are plenty of different downstairs spaces, and the conservatory is lovely on sunny days. Location is great, just outside Padstow. Good space for young kids as both gates to the outside roads can be locked securely. We would highly recommend the house, many thanks!
