Rated one of Dorset’s best restaurants in the Good Food Guide, Restaurant Roots offers a sublime dining experience in Southbourne, near Hengistbury Head. With only a handful of tables, this small restaurant has been awarded Two AA Rosettes and was featured in the 2022 Michelin Guide. With an incredible tasting menu featuring unique flavour combinations, settle down for an evening of impeccable fine dining with a twist.

Guildhall Tavern

Yalbury Cottage

The Pig on the Beach

With an emphasis on fresh flavours and homegrown produce, the menu at The Pig is inspired by the Dorset coast and countryside. Overseen by Chef James Golding and Head Chef Andy Wright, tuck into simple but delicious British food all sourced within 25 miles of the restaurant. Whether it’s chargrilled Jurassic Coast cuttlefish or Portland crab bake, enjoy supper with incredible views over Studland Bay and across to Old Harry Rocks.

The Ollerod

Style of Food: Modern British Food

Situated within a 14th century hotel in beautiful Beaminister, The Ollerod is a much-loved choice amongst diners. Their award-winning a la carte menu is brimming with local produce and seasonal vegetables, including Lyme Bay scallops, wild mushroom cannelloni and spiced carrot pakora. For something a little more laid back, visit on a Wednesday for their cocktail and Mexican nights - complete with feisty margaritas and authentic duck tacos.

Focus of the Menu: Seasonal and foraged 

Awards: Michelin Guide 2022

Headed up by Hilary Mansell, Lilac is the sister restaurant to Robin Wylde and places its focus on foraged and regional ingredients. Dinner service begins promptly at 6pm, with a tasting menu consisting of gorgeous fish dishes, re-imagined veg plates and decadent desserts. The intimate restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday and only seats a handful of covers every night. Choose the wine pairing menu to sample some of the South West’s best wines, or opt for one of their signature foraged cocktails, with seaweed martinis amongst their favourites.

Mortons House Restaurant

Located in the picturesque town of Corfe, Mortons House is all about informal fine dining in tranquil surroundings. With a reputation for British and international cuisine, traditional dishes are served with innovative twists to tempt the palate. Their menu features plenty of locally sourced produce including Lyme Bay shellfish and Jurassic Coast dry-aged sirloin steak.

La Fleur de Lys
