Caroline Walker’s Beautiful Cows
Quite a few of our holiday homes’ walls are adorned with striking, brightly-coloured paintings and sketches of cows. And we’re always being asked by guests who the artist of these pieces of work is. So we thought we’d shed a bit of light on the beautiful cows in our beautiful houses.
Caroline Walker is the artist behind these bovine masterpieces, and is actually based locally in Cornwall. After studying in Wales, Caroline worked in fashion for many years in London, before settling down in the South West – a move that clearly inspires her work, which features predominantly endearing and colourful portraits of cows and other farmland animals.
The Warhol-esque bursts of colour really bring a fun element to neutral rooms, without being overpowering. For those with a more conservative palette, Caroline also produces a range of simple sketches, reminiscent of a contemporary Beatrix Potter illustration.
As well as producing beautiful paintings and prints, Caroline also produces a range of kitchenware, imbibed with iconic characters of her work, from fine bone china tea pots to place mats. All of Caroline’s products, prints and a selection of original pieces are available from her website.
