Explore the waterside town of Fowey within a 10 minute drive, before returning to the sea-view hot tub.
Quiet and understated, the master bedroom enjoys views over rolling fields, while the open plan kitchen, living and dining area reveals far-reaching glimpses over St Austell Bay. Finished in elegant neutrals and dove greys, the interiors complement the home’s coastal surroundings. With a king size bed for sleepy mornings and sliding doors opening directly onto the patio and hot tub, savour the view just moments after waking up.
Welcoming dogs and surrounded by endless beach walks and hidden coves, a stay here creates time to truly switch off. A large garden means guests can luxuriate in the sun while surrounded by Cornish wildlife, and the terrace invites celebratory drinks with your special someone.
Step inside the living space, set under striking wooden beams, and sink into one of two tempting sofas for rest and relaxation after days spent wandering the local area. Branching off into a small but well-equipped kitchen, you'll find everything you need to whip up a holiday meal for two.
Nearby, enjoy swimming and sailing on Polkerris’ calm waters before taking to the coast path for a peaceful stroll. Be sure to stop and enjoy the view at the Gribbin Head daymarker, where dolphins have been spotted at the mouth of the river below.
At lunchtime, dine al fresco at North Street Kitchen or pick up warm pasties from Quay Bakery to fuel a boat trip with Fowey River Hire. And in the summer months, watch boats race on the river before delving into the town’s beautiful independent interior shops and boutiques.

Open Plan Living, Kitchen and Dining Area
Sitting under high beamed ceilings, the open plan living, kitchen and dining area all blend seamlessly into one. Finished in soft blues with rustic wood finishings and copper accents, you’ll feel instantly at home. Sliding doors occupy one side of the room, where coast and countryside views can be enjoyed from the comfort of a sofa or around the dining table.
During the warmer months, open the sliding doors and let the sunlight stream in as breakfasts are prepared in the kitchen. The duck-egg blue cabinetry and gloss worktops of the kitchen are neutral and understated. Warm buttery croissants in the Bosch oven while the Nespresso Magimix takes care of the morning coffee. Also housed behind the cabintery is an Indesit dishwasher, an AEG fridge-freezer and a Beko washer-drier. Come evening, lay the table for two and enjoy a romantic meal as golden hour arrives.
If the weather turns, switch on the Smart TV and curl up on the soft grey sofas to select a favourite film for the evening. Or, step straight out onto the terrace and delve into the hot tub with glasses of Cornish fizz to hand.

Fowey
Food and drink
With many waterfront restaurants, cafés and traditional pubs to choose from, Fowey is a well-established foodie location in Cornwall. From authentic Spanish tapas to beautifully prepared homemade pizzas, sister restaurants Pintxo and Bufala should always be on your must-visit list when dining nearby. Make a reservation at The King of Prussia for elevated seafood suppers and excellent service, or enjoy al fresco lunches at North Street Kitchen. When beach picnics beckon, head to Quay Bakery and Kittow’s Deli for incredible fresh sourdough, local cheeses and traditional Cornish pasties. Or if you’re just after somewhere for breakfast, enjoy oat flat whites and avocado toast from Brown Sugar Café.
Outdoor pursuits
Whether it's a coastal walk, forest bike rides or rounds of golf, there’s plenty to keep the whole family busy nearby. From the centre of Fowey, wander along the esplanade to discover some of the best views over the river, before climbing the headland to the ancient St Catherine’s Castle. From here, you can continue the route over the hills to Gribbin Head or join the Hall Walk from the harbour to explore Polruan across the water. If you’re looking for something a little more energetic, cycle the many trails that await at Woody's Bike Park or head to Cardinham Woods for a leisurely route beneath the trees. Or drive 20 minutes to enjoy an afternoon on the 18-hole green at Lanhydrock Golf Club.
Beaches and watersports
Tucked away on the calmer south coast, Fowey sits amongst some of the best beaches and coves in Cornwall. When the sun is shining, head to Readymoney Cove for an afternoon of sandcastle building, before dipping tiny toes in the gentle waves. Closeby, Fowey River Hire offer guided kayaking tours, or choose something a bit more fast-paced with a sea safari and keep your eyes peeled for sunbathing seals. A little further afield is Carlyon Bay; known for its long stretch of golden sand and turquoise waters, it’s another great option for families. Best for swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding, Polkerris is an all-round favourite amongst locals and is easily accessible. For those looking for a sandy walk with four-legged friends, head to nearby Par Sands which welcomes dogs year-round.
Activities for children
Nearby, the Eden Project promises to keep everyone entertained no matter the weather. From exploring the botanical biomes to discovering their year-round calendar of events, there’s always something new to enjoy during a visit. For little imaginations, wander around Fowey’s historic aquarium which is home to a whole array of local sealife. Be sure to visit around midday to watch the octopus have his lunch, before picking up lines and bait to enjoy an afternoon of crabbing on the Quay. Not far away is Charlestown’s Shipwreck Museum, a one-of-a-kind attraction full of treasure and tales of Cornwall’s perilous shores.
Festivals and events
For a week every summer, the streets and waters of Fowey fizz with live music, carnival processions and yacht racing with its annual town regatta. For an authentic Cornish experience, catch the much-loved Fowey Town Band carrying the giant pasty through town to kick off the week of celebrations. For something a little more laid back, the town hosts their literary festival every May in honour of Daphne Du Maurier, who used to live just across the water. Come winter, visit at Christmas time for their food and drink festival which takes place on the twinkling harbourfront.

This was our third stay at Little Polkerris and it was as brilliant as ever. So cosy, everything clean and tidy and lots of lovely treats provided. Thank you!
”A beautiful barn conversion for two - excellently presented and spotlessly clean. Secluded enough for privacy and relaxation overlooking St Austell Bay and yet only a short drive to Polkerris Beach, Par Sands and of course, Fowey. The property itself was very bright, south facing and perfectly spacious for two people with every amenity catered for. Overall, we had a lovely week in Cornwall.
”We couldn't fault a thing, Perfect Stays were extremely helpful with my booking. Their pre-arrival information is brilliant and the property was even better than the pictures, we truly didn't want to leave and we're already thinking about our next booking and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Perfect Stays to others.
”We had a wonderful time at Little Polkerris, the views from the hot tub and patio overlooking St Austell Bay are stunning - it really is the perfect romantic getaway. We'd highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!
”Absolutely loved it. Nicely secluded, yet still very close to Par and Polkerris. Well looked after and a place I would love to come back to.
”A small beautifully converted barn - perfect for two people who'd like a quiet escape to the lovely countryside while also being close to the fun of Fowey and Polkerris Beach. We loved it!
”Little Polkerris is a beautiful, secluded barn conversion only a few minutes' drive from Fowey. Very comfortable accommodation and the hot tub was a particular joy!
”My husband and I stayed here a couple of weekends ago for my birthday and we had such a lovely time. The house was just perfect, and we loved the welcome hamper we were provided with, this was very thoughtful and a lovely touch. The property had everything we required while we were there and even more than we expected, even down to dog shampoo. The Concierge team were very helpful which made our stay even better. Thank you very much and we will definitely be returning!
