An architectural triumph, Blue Elvin is an award-winning holiday home with dramatic views across Mount’s Bay. The striking exterior contrasts playfully with the peaceful surrounding landscape, resulting in a contemporary base set within a tranquil Cornish village.
Once you step inside, the clean lines and sharp angles give way to wonderfully warm interior details. Bright colours and Designers Guild fabrics by Christian Lacroix and Howard Hodgkin fill the expansive rooms, which are edged by glass walls and lofty ceilings.
Perfect for family retreats, special occasions and gatherings with friends, the spacious open plan living space is designed for everyone to come together. The sitting room and dining area open straight onto the sweeping elevated balcony, so you can step out into the fresh sea breeze after lunch and take in the spectacular ocean views.
There are plenty of options for entertainment at Blue Elvin, from the high-tech TV room to the garage games room with a pool table, which is fantastic on rainy days. The bedroom set up is wonderfully versatile, with three out of the four bedrooms containing zip and link beds, which can be made up as super kings or twins. All bedrooms come with an en-suite, so the whole group can relax in comfort and privacy.
Located in Newlyn and just a short walk from Mousehole, exploring the surrounding bays and coastlines couldn’t be easier. Amble along the waterfront and sample some of the freshest fish caught in one of the largest fleets in the UK, and don’t miss a trip to Jelberts for delicious clotted cream ice cream. Rich in history and cultural experiences, Newlyn is home to some lovely galleries, boutique shops and art schools. Penzance is a five minute drive away, and home to an abundance of restaurants and art galleries. Whilst the iconic St Micahel’s Mount and Land’s End are also nearby.

Beaches and watersports
West Cornwall is home to some breathtaking beaches, with the turquoise waters of Porthcurno, Pednvounder and Porthchapel just a short drive from Newlyn. The nearby Marazion Beach is great for families and has the spectacle of St Michael’s Mount in the background. Across the Lizard Peninsula is Sennen Cove – a surfing paradise with high quality surf schools offering lessons and equipment hire. We’d also recommend exploring the magical coastline by kayak, boat, jet ski or paddle board. If you love sea fishing, there are various day trips available from Penzance.

Outdoor pursuits
Rugged clifftop walks and jaw-dropping sea views are abundant around this stretch of coast. Amble towards St Michael’s Mount or pick up the South West Coast Path in Mousehole and follow it round to Lamorna Cove where you’ll be regaled by staggering rock formations. Keen cyclists will love the First and Last trail from Hayle to Land’s End and golfers can choose between Praa Sands, Cape Cornwall, West Cornwall and Tregenna Golf Clubs. No holiday is complete without a walk around Land’s End – the most south westerly tip of the UK.

Festivals and events
Newlyn Fish Festival is an annual event which raises an extraordinary amount of money for local causes. The day is filled with fish displays, cooking demonstrations, harbour events and music. The Mousehole Christmas Lights is another legendary spectacle near Newlyn. Switched on every year in the week before Christmas, dazzling illuminations light up the harbour and boats, and a range of local events helps everyone to get that festive feeling.

Food and drink
One of the largest fishing harbours in the UK, expect exemplary seafood at the many restaurants in Newlyn and Penzance, not to mention Sennen Cove, Porthleven and St Ives. Drop into Mackerel Sky Seafood Bar for a quick bite, whet your appetite at the Tolcarne Inn or dine with a view of St Michael’s Mount at The Godolphin Arms in Marazion. We also recommend Jelberts in Newlyn for some of the best ice cream in Cornwall. For the wine-lovers, Polgoon Vineyard in Penzance makes a brilliant day out.

Activities for children
If the weather takes a turn, Paradise Park in nearby Hayle is every child’s dream day out with over 650 birds and animals to see, meet and learn about. Geevor Tin Mine is also great for a rainy day, with guided tours offering an educational insight into what daily life was like for Cornish tin miners. Another memorable activity for the children is a trip out to sea with Marine Discovery in Penzance. Climb aboard one of their boats and go in search of dolphins, basking sharks, sunfish, porpoises and seals.

Time for pampering
Relax and unwind at the beautiful St Ives Harbour Hotel Spa, which is under 40 minutes away by car. Alternatively, the C Bay Spa at The Carbis Bay Hotel offers a wonderful setting for indulgence. Enjoy a glass of Cornish fizz and soak up the sea views in between treatments for complete relaxation. Both C Bay Spa and St Ives Harbour have amazing views over the bay and offer high quality treatments and use of their leisure facilities.

Heritage and culture
Due to its clear light and spectacular surroundings, Newlyn has always been a popular destination for artists. The Newlyn School of Art offers a range of short courses and evening sessions, which are fantastic options for creative holidays. Cornwall’s world famous open-air Minack Theatre is also just a 25 minute drive away. Open to day visitors as well as theatre goers, it has breathtaking views over the ocean. A visit to Cornwall wouldn’t be complete without exploring the beautiful St Michael’s Mount, too.

Our stay at Blue Elvin was fabulous from start to finish. Perfect Stays offered exceptional service and nothing was too much trouble. To have that attitude today is rare and stands out.
The view from Blue Elvin is exceptional - it's like being at the end of the world with a view that allows you to free up space in your head and imagine. The house was fitted with beautiful bedding, gorgeous homeware and had a stunning garden. Nothing had been missed. It truly felt like the best place to stay.
”Blue Elvin is beautifully appointed with a huge living room, vaulted ceilings and a sliding panoramic window forming one entire side overlooking the sea, Penzance and Newlyn harbour.
The kitchen is extremely well appointed with a full complement of kitchenware, including a comprehensive welcome pack. All bedrooms are en-suite with balconies. There is a pool table and games room and additionally a TV room. A fully comprehensive property spectacularly designed and executed. We had a fantastic week here and would recommend this property.
”What a fantastic fortnight in this lovely house, beautiful view, the house is so well equipped, we cannot fault it in any way - so comfortable. So sad to have to leave it today, the pubs here are so friendly and the food they do is very scrumptious. Would definitely recommend this house to others, thank you.
”We have really enjoyed our stay at Blue Elvin. Waking up to nothing but the sound of seagulls and watching the fishing boats sail out for their daily catch from the balcony is magical. The home is the best equipped that we have ever stayed in. Recommend The King's Arms in Mousehole for dinner. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful home.
”Wow! What a beautiful house. Everything is perfect. We had an amazing time. Thank you so much for the lovely welcome pack - that was such a fantastic surprise. We most definitely will be booking for next year. Honestly, everything was simply gorgeous.
”This house is amazing. It has the 'wow' factor from the moment you pull up. Everything is thought of and is in a perfect location. We need another week here as there is so much to do. Would recommend going to Kynance Cove - perfect beach!
”We had a wonderful two weeks at Blue Elvin. The welcome pack was the best we have ever had and much appreciated.
Blue Elvin is a fantastic house with the most wonderful views over the sea and Newlyn Harbour. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need and it has a separate pantry for keeping supplies cool. Mousehole was well worth a visit, in fact we walked the mile each way about three times, and No 2 Fore Street serves the most delicious food.
