The Old Watch House is a wonderful, newly-refurbished holiday home in Mousehole, boasting an unbeatable location alongside the water, with the garden wall quite literally the sea wall. From the garden, private access leads down onto the dog friendly waterfront.

As the name suggests, this unique waterfront property would have kept watch over the waterways and comings and goings of ships in Mousehole harbour, as well as keeping a close eye on any smuggling activity that would have been along this stretch of coast. The access to the beach from the garden would have been the chief watchman’s slipway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Watch House, it was perfectly placed to enjoy the Christmas lights in the harbour. The house itself is well-equipped and very comfortable. My favourite aspect of the property was the garden, beautifully planted and, despite being December, the camellia was in flower.

We particularly found that the driveway was the added bonus, given the difficulty of parking in Mousehole. It is easy to walk everywhere and several good eateries within short distance.

The Davies Family, Hampshire

A wonderful 7 days. Super views and lovely house with tasteful interior. A very relaxing holiday – what more could you wish for?

The Atkins and Williams Family, Great Missenden

Just wanted to thank you for a truly perfect stay, we’ve had the most wonderful week at the very beautiful, Old Watch House.

Thank you also for getting our chef Fiona booked last minute on Thursday, she was fabulous!

The Mallery Family, Kent

Marvelous, ornate, unique, stunning, exquisite, homely, organic, luxury, excellent!!

The Acfield Family, Devon

What an amazing house! We had such a perfect stay  at The Old Watch House. It was very well equipped and perfectly located. It had a lovely garden which was great for young children – hours spent running around, boat spotting and looking for seals. We loved a stormy day watching the big waves come over the harbor wall but the majority of the time the weather was very kind to us. We even had a BBQ which we thoroughly enjoyed – the views are fantastic!

This is truly a beautiful house – the best holiday home that we have stayed at – thank you very much. We must also say thank you to the Perfect Stays agent – Robyn, you were absolutely amazing! Thank you.

Perfect! Lovely house and gardens. Furnished beautifully – you have thought of everything! Thank you.

Wow! We LOVE it here…. spent the weekend watching Storm Katie from cosy comfort of The Old Watch House. Spectacular waves came crashing over the harbor walls! We’ve enjoyed some lovely meals during our stay and can thoroughly recommend buying fresh fish from Newlyn Fish. The Sunday roast at The Ship is a must and the pasties in Cornwall can be found at Lost Gardens of Heligan. Once the sun came out we made the most of the incredible views, especially looking out for seals who like to sunbathe on the large rock in front of the house! All in all, one of the loveliest holidays we’ve ever had! Thank you so much.

What a wonderful house matched by the enchanting Mousehole! We hope to return before too long.

Perfect house – Perfect location – Perfect stay – We loved it!

We had the most wonderful meals in Mousehole. The house is beautiful and very well equipped! We hope to be back soon.

A lovely comfortable house – beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. I wish I could stay longer!

The Griffiths Family, Leominster

Our second stay here and just as wonderful as expected. The house is perfect!

We ate in Fore Street, The Gurnards Head, Ben Tunnicliffe’s at Sennen.

We walked and Larmorna, Penzance, St Michael’s and visited Cape Cornwall, Sennen and Porthcurno.

We swan across the harbour!

The Helyer Family, Surrey

Beautiful house in stunning location! I have stayed at a few houses in Mousehole but this is the best! Perfect for parking, and Alfie my dog. Will be booking another stay. Thank you.

The Rose Family, West Sussex

What a wonderful relaxing holiday! The house was better than the pictures, a beautiful clean and enchanting house in perfect surroundings. The weather has been perfect too! Be will definitely be coming back.

The McGhee Family, Newbury

Better than expected and even better than the pictures.  A simply marvellous relaxing and special place and one that we most definitely will be visiting again.
