Perfectly positioned for exploring Mousehole, The Mouse House is just a five minute walk away from the village’s restaurants, shops and galleries.
The beautiful open plan kitchen and dining room is the heart of the home, with a sociable breakfast bar and bi-fold doors that frame the West Cornwall waters beyond. Take your morning's walk down to the harbour and pick up fresh local seafood ready for a hearty al fresco lunch, best enjoyed from the sea-view garden. When the sun is shining, peel back the patio doors and spill outside to soak up the refreshing coastal breeze.
The Mouse House can accommodate up to eight guests across two master bedrooms, both of which enjoy calming sea views and stylish en-suite shower rooms. There’s also a twin bedroom and a characterful bunk bed room with its very own porthole window, perfect for children.
During the festive period, guests staying in the smaller of the two master bedrooms can sit back and enjoy wonderful views of the much-loved Mousehole Christmas Lights that bring the harbour to life.
The spacious living area is cosy year-round, with a wood burner to warm chilly toes in the colder months and bay windows to watch the waves roll in. The perfect storm-watching spot, hunker down with a board game or turn to the Smart TV and Xbox for some evening entertainment.
Located in a pocket of West Cornwall, enjoy endless walks along the harbour and coastline, visit the local bird sanctuary or make a day trip to the bustling towns of St Ives or Porthcurno, where you’ll find the world famous Minack Theatre.

More about theGround Floor
Kitchen and Dining Area
The Mouse House’s open plan kitchen and dining area is chic yet functional, with a Beiling induction hob, an oven complete with warming drawer, plus a dishwasher and microwave. A neutral colour scheme pairs perfectly with the turquoise waters outside, perfectly framed by the bi-fold doors. Combining contemporary and traditional styles, the quartz topped worktops pair nicely with the splashes of rich wood throughout. This space is also home to an enclosed sleeping area for furry friends to curl up in.
Please note: guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob as this can interfere with the device.
Utility Room
The ground floor utility room benefits from a Statesman washing machine and tumble dryer.
Living Room
Designed with its fantastic views in mind, two expansive bay windows are a welcome addition to The Mouse House’s living room. Perfect for all weathers, you can watch the storms roll in during winter and kayakers exploring the coastline come summer. As you relax, connect your device to the Bose sound system and tune in to your favourite podcast or playlist. If you’re looking for a cosy night in, curl up by the wood burner and switch on the Smart TV or Xbox for the evening’s entertainment.
Bedroom Four with En-suite
Bedroom four is a haven for the younger generations of the group, home to feature bunk beds and an en-suite. However, what children will love most about this bedroom is letting their imaginations run wild with their very own porthole window.
More about theFirst Floor
Bedroom One with En-suite
Bedroom one’s super king size bed is a relaxing space to unwind after tiring days exploring the West Cornwall coast. Two large bay windows flood the room with natural light, while an adjoining en-suite is great for an early morning refresh before the day’s activities.
Bedroom Two with En-suite
Also benefiting from a super king size bed, bedroom two looks over Mousehole’s calm waters and harbour. From the fluffy cushions to the rustic-luxe bedside tables, every element has carefully been considered to echo the home’s nautical character. Even the en-suite is utterly on-trend, with a porthole window offering ocean-view showers. Both bedroom one and two enjoy Bose speakers, perfect for plugging into as you get ready for an evening meal.
Bedroom Three
Fantastic for guests of all ages, this twin room is home to a flat screen TV with an Xbox 360. Enjoy late night entertainment before a well-deserved rest.
Bathroom
The family bathroom serves bedroom three, complete with a deep bath tub. Sink into the bubbles for a moment of quiet after action-packed days exploring the local area.
More about theExterior
Garden and Decking Area
On sunny days, take advantage of The Mouse House’s spacious garden, peppered with greenery from top to bottom. As children and four-legged friends explore the grassy grounds, adults can fire up the charcoal barbeque and toast to a wonderful holiday with a glass of Cornish fizz. A leafy lane behind the property runs to a secluded outcrop that overlooks the coastline, great for savouring a glimpse of Mount’s Bay and St Michael’s Mount.
Please note: The Mouse House is built on the side of a steep hill and due to the terrain, the garden is terraced. Very young children should always be supervised. The lane at the back of the house is for pedestrian use only; it’s too narrow to access by car. Due to the parking location and the subsequent gradient access to the property, which involves narrow paths and two sets of steep steps, we would not recommend The Mouse House to guests with limited mobility.
Parking
Immediately below the house, and approximately a two-minute walk away, are the two parking spaces, allocated for guests at The Mouse House. If you require further parking, there are several car parks nearby.

Outdoor pursuits
Go in search of dolphins, sharks and seals with Marine Discovery on a wildlife spotting boat trip or try your hand at sea fishing with local companies like Down The Cove and Bite Adventures. Keen walkers will love setting off along the coast path to explore Land’s End, Lamorna Cove, Newlyn, Porthcurno and Sennen Cove on foot, while golfers can perfect their swing at the nearby Praa Sands, President’s or West Cornwall golf courses.

Heritage and culture
Watch the village come alive during the festive season as Mousehole’s much-loved Harbour Lights return for another year. Expect dazzling illuminations, twinkling boats and Christmas-clad buildings, plus plenty of local events. For daytime entertainment, head to the world famous Minack Theatre to see an open-air show with a beautiful coastal backdrop. There are plenty of musicals, dramas and operas to marvel at between May and September.

Food and drink
Mousehole is a haven for food lovers with 2 Fore Street, The Ship Inn and The Old Coastguard Hotel offering fantastic varied menus to suit all appetites. The sun-blushed vineyard at Polgoon in Penzance offers tours and tastings to showcase its quality Cornish wines, ciders and juices, while Mousehole and its surrounding villages are home to some lovely pubs for a drink or two. We recommend Lamorna Wink and the Kings Arms.

Beaches and watersports
While Mousehole’s charming tidal beach sits right on your doorstep, some of Cornwall’s best beaches, including Porthcurno and Lamorna Cove, can be reached within a short drive. Surfers will love the crashing waves at Sennen Cove, while calmer waters can be found at Pednvounder and Marazion. There’s plenty of fun to be had in the water too – with scuba diving, kite surfing, speed sailing and jet ski hire all operating in and around Mousehole.

Time for pampering
Unwind at the beautiful St Ives Harbour Hotel Spa, featuring a heated swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room and fitness suite. A massage room accompanies a beautiful outdoor pool at The Cove Cornwall, with Cornish seaweed wraps and Reiki healing creating a real sanctuary to relax and refresh. Other nearby spas include Tregenna Castle, C Bay Spa and the Natural Health Spa at Budock Vean – all of which we highly recommend.
