You’ll know you’ve arrived for a holiday by the sea when you pull up to the powder blue, wood clad exterior. This fresh, coastal design is reflected throughout the property with carefully selected pieces of furniture and bright open living spaces designed with family and socialising in mind, curated by one of Cornwall’s top interior designers.

Sleeping up to 11 guests, The Quarter Deck offers a generous 6 bedrooms for flexibility, with 3 bedrooms on the ground floor allowing for guests with limited mobility freedom and independence to enjoy this beautifully appointed holiday home.

The spacious open plan living, kitchen and dining area invites the whole group to come together, while an additional lounge in The Lookout and a unique playroom – equipped with PlayStation 4 and floor-full of bean bags – providing a variety of spaces for members of the group to peel off and relax.

The Quarter Deck is a cosy coastal retreat in the winter with the roaring warmth of the wood burner and miles of crisp, beach walks to hand. In the summer, the garden and decking are the spot to enjoy the balmy temperatures. Trevone Beach is just a short walk away, while a further 6 beaches are within near vicinity in this corner of Cornwall known as the ‘Seven Bays’.

When not at the beach, or ambling along the coast path, The Quarterdeck’s garden compliments its coastal location, affording privacy and plenty of space with two decked areas. Pet owners will appreciate its enclosed perimeter, as will parents of young toddlers.

Kitchen/Living/Dining

If there’s one thing The Quarterdeck is perfect for, it’s hosting great dinner parties. The capacious kitchen is entirely open to the beautiful dining area, complete with built-in bench seating which, in-turn, opens round to the lounge. Delegate chef can whip up a culinary storm while dutiful assistants perch, wine in hand, at the kitchen island. Meanwhile the waft of dinner teasing those conversing at the table or reclining in the lounge, the soundtrack to the evening filtering from the wireless Bose speaker.

The recently redecorated kitchen is perfectly equipped for the aforementioned scene, boasting a Neff double oven, six-ring gas hob and well-stocked cupboards. A small integrated refrigerator supplements the impressive American-style Bosch in the neighbouring utility room.

From the dining area, patio doors lead out onto an enclosed decked dining area, a lovely spot to enjoy an alfresco meal or to extend the inner dining area to the outside. A second open sun deck is accessible via the lounge, sheltered from the breeze and perfect for laying out in the afternoon.

The lounge is suitably equipped with a Samsung Smart TV (allowing access to applications such as Netflix and BBC iPlayer) and Apple TV.

Utility

As well as the large Bosch fridge-freezer, the utility is home to a Bosch washing machine and tumble dryer, and provides access to the rear garden.

 

Bedroom Four

A ground floor double bedroom leads off from the kitchen, providing a plush and accessible room for guests with limited mobility, and easy access to the social spaces of the home. This bedroom’s occupants effectively are facilitated by the family bathroom next door, complete with walk-in shower.

Snug

This connecting hall has been cleverly utilised to provide a quaint little snug room that children will adore. Plump floor-filling bean bags provide the perfect gaming seat for the PS4.

Bedroom Five

A pretty single room with garden views – Bedroom Five & neighbouring Six are set apart from the rest of the house, sharing a large family bathroom. This is a great configuration for a family or light-sleepers.

Bedroom Six is comprised of a plump double bed.

Family Bathroom

This spacious family bathroom is effectively dedicated to Bedrooms Five & Six and is fitted with a large walk-in shower.

Master Bedroom with En-suite

While all of The Quarterdeck’s bedrooms have been lovingly furnished, the Master Bedroom lives up to expectations with a luring super king bed and high vaulted ceilings adding character and a sense of spaciousness. A Juliette balcony invites in the light morning breeze across the crisp white linens – breakfast in bed being an absolute holiday-must. To top the room off, a sumptuous en-suite beckons with a deep bath tub and large walk-in shower.

 

Bedroom Two

This generous king size bedroom is awash with natural light that spills through the Velux and charming porthole window.

Bedroom Three

Bedroom Three is comprised of a super king zip & link bed that offers flexible sleeping arrangements as an optional twin room.

Family Bathroom

The family bathroom on the first floor is essentially dedicated to Bedrooms Two & Three and consists of a walk-in shower and bath tub.

The driveway is shared with the neighbouring property so therefore parking is not permitted anywhere else on the drive. Additional parking is available at the nearby beach car park.

 

Trevone Beach

Trevone Beach is a firm family favourite, and less than 10 minutes’ walk on foot, easy to get to from The Quarterdeck. Trevone is part of the renowned ‘Seven Bays’ area, where a choice of seven beautiful beaches are within a walk or short drive.

My family and I were very impressed and would definitely recommend The Quarter Deck to our friends and family. It was very spacious and we had plenty of space. It was extremely well equipped and was situated in a beautiful spot close to the beach. We had an amazing stay over Christmas at The Quarter Deck. From the initial booking to arrival, the service from Perfect Stays was first class.

We were welcomed by the most amazing hamper. The house was immaculate. And we had a lovely big Christmas tree in the main lounge. Nice touch of the little play area and some toys available. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and worked well with our family configuration. The men enjoyed their afternoon siesta in the grown up lounge, sprawling out on the large sofas!

Fantastic farm shop up the road, Padstow Farm Shop, and a lovely little deli and cafe hidden away there too. And an amazing selection of gin! All the sea air worked its magic on the children who slept like logs! A very memorable and special family holiday.

The Pengelly Family, Wiltshire

We stayed at The Quarter Deck in June to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary with all the family and two dogs. The house was lovely, well furnished and suited us down to the ground. Plenty of everything. Lovely linen and towels, everything was of a good quality and well looked after. Enough room for everyone and Lindsay from Perfect Stays very kindly looked after Barney and Odie whilst we went out to celebrate at St Petroc’s Bistro in Padstow – wonderful meal.

I would recommend this property as it is within walking distance of Trevone beach and all the beaches nearby that are dog friendly. Padstow is walkable through the fields. The welcome hamper was a surprise full of goodies and the fridge filled with essentials. We loved the upstairs lounge, with views of the sea. Plenty of scrabble was played by the family. Lots of other games supplied and DVDs and a good selection of books. Trevone is very central to get to all the interesting places in Cornwall.
