A beachfront bolthole that promises a magical sundown setting, Clifftop blends modern-rustic luxury with a stunning coastal vista. Featuring a hot tub, wood-clad sauna, and lovingly recommended by Ruth Crilly, it lends itself to indulgent spa breaks and family escapes on the coast, where some of the best views in Devon await. Offering a design masterclass through pitched ceilings, expansive glass and soft woods, architects VESP have created a space that's both breath-taking and welcoming; South West design at its best.
Set across three floors, expansive sea views can be found around every corner. Curated with large groups in mind, the modern kitchen and dining area calls for quality time over seafood platters and overflowing coupes, while rich terracottas and inky greys combine to reflect the coast’s ever-changing palette. After leisurely suppers, head to the west-facing balcony that lies just beyond the open plan living space. With views over Challaborough Beach and afar, pull back sliding doors and lounge in the sun with drinks in hand.
For the best views in the house, the panoramic living area is an idyllic setting. Ascend the stairs for breakfast with a view and when night falls, settle in for an evening in front of the commanding feature wood burner.
All seven bedrooms have been tastefully designed using a pared-back palette of whites and warm wooden tones, bringing a calming feel to each. Every small detail has been considered and two of the bedrooms benefit from sensational sea views, plus direct access onto the elevated terrace – a perfect spot for enjoying morning coffees above the waves.
Complete with a hot tub and wood-clad Zoki sauna, the tiered garden enjoys uninterrupted views across glistening ocean tides and pockets of jewel-green countryside. Return from days on the sand and cook up a feast for the whole family from the Big Green Egg barbeque, before tiptoeing to the sauna for moments enveloped in warmth.
Situated in the heart of South Devon’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Bigbury-on-Sea is home to one of the region’s most popular beaches. What was once a sleepy fisherman’s village is now a much-loved retreat for families, foodies and walking enthusiasts. With other prevalent South Hams destinations like Salcombe and Hope Cove only a short drive away, there’s so much to explore on your doorstep.

The house is fantastic, well-equipped and beautifully furnished. Very well designed. It's been a brilliant few days with walks, hot tub dips and incredible meals with amazing views and tremendous sunsets. The most wonderful, happy birthday celebration for me.
”We've made magical memories to last us a lifetime. This beautiful home has such a wonderful aura, we all felt so calm and comfortable here. The views are perfect and change throughout the day. So many beautiful places to discover nearby too.
”We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home. Every detail has been carefully considered, offering super comfort and breathtaking views. You have created something truly special!
”Thank you so much Beccy and Will for an absolutely wonderful holiday! It was a family holiday to celebrate the life (after their passing) of my grandparents; this house made it everything we hoped it would be. We particularly adored the balconies/view all watching the sunset together.
The house felt like home straightaway - the scones were such a lovely touch and there was so much to discover around the area (make sure to stop by Catch of the Day in Kingsbridge, best smoked fish ever). Thank you again - I hope all who stay here have as wonderful a time.
”Such an amazing view! We all absolutely loved it here - hard to leave the house. The presentation is wonderful and the owners have thought of everything - the house is very well stocked. It would be interesting to watch winter storms from the top floor... Many thanks to the owners and to Perfect Stays - we hope to come back soon.
”What a truly wonderful week here with all our family. Superb to be here on heatwave week too! The views, location and style of this house have totally blown us away. Did not feel crowded with 11 of us! So beautiful - we loved the hot tub and its views, and just a short path to walk dogs or swim in the sea. Fantastic new build, very practical. Thank you so much!
”Wow! The view is stunning. We've had a fantastic week. The house is so well kitted out and has been a delight to spend time in. Bigbury-on-Sea has not disappointed either with the range of beaches and activities. The kids have had an absolute ball, from damming the river on the beach to paddle boarding and a surf lesson. The Oyster Shack was a real treat for my husband and me. Thanks for facilitating our first proper family holiday. We are already looking forward to the same week next year.
