Dogs are allowed on the main beach from October to May. The stretch of Bigbury-on-Sea Beach west of the causeway is dog-friendly throughout the year.
Burgh Island is about 250 metres from the mainland. Keep in mind that you can only walk across at low tide, with the island become completely severed once the waves have rolled in.
