Adventure awaits at the Wimbleball Lake Activities Centre, seven miles from Dulverton. Surrounded by rolling moorland hills, you can take to the water in the form of kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding and sailing. It’s not all about the water, though, with archery, high ropes, walking and cycling also on the agenda. For a more restful pace, you can get up close to some of area’s most beloved residents at the Exmoor Pony Centre, which is seven miles away. Wimbleball Lake
This circular route around Wimbleball Lake, a short drive from Dulverton, offers plenty of variety, with woodland trails, open grassland, and fantastic views across the water. Tarr Steps to Clapper Bridge
Perfect for an afternoon stroll, this easy circular walk takes you through lush ancient woodland and across the River Barle via the Tarr Steps, a clapper bridge thought to date back to 1000 BC. The route offers enviable spots for picnicking by the river, spotting wildlife, and soaking up the tranquillity of what is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
There is no longer a train station in Dulverton. The nearest train station is Tiverton Parkway, 21 miles away.
