Recommendations for Coverack
Relax in the garden at Paris Hotel Restaurant and enjoy beautiful sea views. The Paris dates back to 1907, when it was built by Redruth Brewery, and serves a menu that changes daily. You can treat your taste buds to locally caught fish, meats, and vegetarian options. Better still, a quality wine list is on hand to complement your dish of choice.
Set two miles away on St Keverne High Street, The Greenhouse offers outstanding food and more. Not only can you experience a contemporary menu crafted with locally sourced ingredients, but you can also enrol on a breadmaking and soufflé class.
Coverack Beach is dog-friendly all year round, so your canine companions can join you for fun on the sands and sea splashes throughout the seasons.
Coverack lies in one of the most beautiful areas of Cornwall. Exploring the Lizard Peninsula will lead to some of the county’s iconic views. Venture westward along the coastal path from The Lizard itself and marvel at Kynance Cove. Parking at Kynance Cove is incredibly busy over the summer months, so beginning at the Lizard can be a better option. For an action-packed family day out, head to Flambards Theme Park in Helston, 10 miles away; you’ll find plenty of rides alongside an indoor play area, and Victorian Village experience that provides a fascinating step through time.
Two of Cornwall’s most popular towns are also close by. Porthleven (13 miles) is a picture-postcard fishing port and a foodie hotspot; the harbour is lined with renowned eateries serving everything from Michelin-awarded fine dining menus to pub classics and café treats. Falmouth (18 miles) has a vibrant high street lined with independent shops, bars and restaurants; this historic port is home to a wealth of attractions, including the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle.

Being located on the east side of the Lizard Peninsula means that Coverack has some spectacular coastal trails on its doorstep. As you hike over dramatic clifftops, you’ll uncover secluded coves and a wealth of wildlife, not to mention exceptional views. Here are two of the best routes.
Coverack to St Keverne
This scenic 4.5 mile trail showcases a boulder-strewn slice of coastline from Coverack to Lowland Point. The latter is a busy patch of water where ships will often be seen anchored as they wait to dock in Falmouth. You’ll pass a quarry at Dean Point, which overlooks the infamous Manacles reef. The latter is the site of many shipwrecks, and the remnants of historic wrecks can be seen today. The return route crosses inland to St Keverne and its historic church. Find full details here.
Coverack to Lankidden Cove
This long circular trail stretches for over seven miles, but you can just tackle the coastal segment for a memorable and scenic hike. From Coverack Beach, you’ll pass the harbour and Dolor Point before joining the South West Coast Path. Perprean Cove and the sands of Porthbeer Cove will soon greet you, before the path winds inland at Chynhalls Point and passes a sculpture park on the way to Black Head. The latter is home to a coastguard lookout with far-reaching ocean views. Find full details here.
