Truly spectacular, Pentyak is a Grand Design-style holiday home like no other. Loved by Coast Magazine and featured in The Times’ 30 Best Multi-Generational Holidays, this stunning hideaway has been designed with families in mind, and is the ultimate fun house for all ages. 

With incredible sea views over Harlyn Bay, Pentyak has been finished to an exceptionally high standard. Each and every element has been carefully considered: from the floor-to-ceiling, angled non-glare windows that drench the open plan ground floor in natural light, to the sleek, contemporary furnishings and designed light fittings.

Children will fall in love with Pentyak’s wonderfully quirky features, from the wooden stair slide backed by a wall of stars to the cosy den, complete with portholes and bunk beds. Outside, they are free to run wild in the enclosed garden and will spend happy days playing in the custom-built treehouse and bouncing on the sunken trampoline.

Sleeping up to fourteen guests, three of the five bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, making this an ideal property for elderly relatives or guests with limited mobility. With huge floor-to-ceiling doors opening onto a private terrace, the master bedroom provides a tranquil haven for quiet moments away from the group. 

The golden sands of Harlyn Bay are right on Pentyak’s doorstep and the popular Harlyn Surf School offer anything from private lessons to kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and coasteering.

Rick Stein’s dog-friendly Cornish Arms is just a walk over the fields and the foodie capital of Padstow is a short drive away. Surrounded by beautiful beaches and rolling countryside, this really is the pinnacle of family holiday homes.

Open Plan Kitchen, Living and Dining Area

Pentyak’s modern kitchen has been equipped to the highest of standards. A five-ring gas Rangemaster complete with hot plate, double oven and grill cooks large family meals to perfection, while a separate Neff oven and grill add extra flexibility. Two fridge-freezers plus a separate fridge built into the modern island provide plenty of food storage in the kitchen, while the walk-in larder is perfect for extra groceries. Take a seat at the dining table with a coffee from the Nespresso coffee machine, or peel open the bi-fold doors to welcome the breeze from the garden. The kitchen is also equipped with two dishwashers and a Quooker boiling water tap.

The star of the room has to be the meticulously stacked slate fireplace housing the wood burning stove. Take to the sofa on moody winter evenings and warm your hands as the fire flickers, or cosy into a plush bean bag as your favourite Blu-ray echoes through the Sonos sound systems from the flat screen Smart TV, complete with BT vision. Thoughtful interior details tie everything in this space together: the low-slung designer lighting, the wooden slide running alongside the stairs and twinkling diode-lit wall, and the cleverly slanted windows that maximise the view across Harlyn Bay.

Den

Separate from the main living areas and featuring a large flat screen TV, the den doubles up as a great children’s playroom. Take to the bean bags and challenge friends to a game on the Xbox One, or watch as the little ones bounce on the trampoline just outside. Benefiting from its own en-suite, as well as a double bed and single bunk for additional sleeping space, the den is ideal for younger guests. 

Bedroom One with En-Suite

The first of two master bedrooms, this enormous ground floor room comprises a super king size zip and link bed, with the versatile option to be a twin. The expansive sliding doors reveal beautiful sea views, while the private patio area just outside is perfect for early morning breakfasts. All the while, a rustic chest of drawers and a large built-in wardrobe maximise storage space.

The incredible en-suite is as impressive as the room itself, with an elegant roll-top bath, ‘his and hers’ sinks and a spacious walk-in rainfall shower.

Bedroom Two

Bedroom two is a bright, calm bedroom with a super king size zip and link bed, which gives the added versatility of a twin room. With views of the treehouse at the front of the property, it’s a great room for guests with limited mobility. A pair of rustic side tables add to the clean and classic design, while a built-in wardrobe provides plenty of storage.

Bedroom Three

Bedroom three is almost identical to bedroom two and located right next door. A super king size zip and link bed provides great versatility, and there’s ample storage space in the built-in wardrobe.

Family Bathroom

Complete with a deep sunken tub, a large walk-in rainfall shower and his and hers sinks, the family bathroom is effortlessly elegant. Located just outside bedrooms two and three, it’s a brilliant fit for a family or two couples, with an additional cloakroom next door.

Utility Room

With external access to both the front of the house and the garden, this large room with underfloor heating is great for returning from long walks along the coast. There’s plenty of storage space for outdoor gear and luggage, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Bedroom Four with En-Suite

This is a great space for children, additional adults in the group or parents with young children wishing to share a room. The flexible zip and link beds can be set up as three singles or a super king and a single, while the low lofted roof and gable window welcome plenty of soft natural light.

The gorgeous en-suite bathroom is tiled from floor to ceiling in unusual wood effect tiles and features a large walk-in shower.

Bedroom Five with En-suite

With its far-reaching sea views, private balcony and spacious en-suite, bedroom five is a luxurious hideaway of its own. Featuring a king size bed, wake each morning to beautiful ocean vistas before tiptoeing onto the private balcony for coffee and croissants. Enhanced by an entire gable wall of glass, this room is fresh and spacious. Built-in wardrobes provide plenty of storage for holiday essentials, while a pair of armchairs provide a cosy spot to rest a while.

The en-suite bathroom houses a large walk-in shower and his and hers sinks, while lofty ceilings invite plenty of natural light.

Garden

Pentyak has a fantastic landscaped garden, gently sloping away from the wraparound terrace towards the expansive lawn. A sunken trampoline will provide hours of fun for children and adults alike, while sleepy dogs lounge on the grass after long coastal walks.

Terrace

The paved terrace wraps around the whole of the property, with plenty of seating and sun loungers for truly making the most of the outdoor space. A large dining table provides a lovely spot for lunch cooked on the gas barbeque, enjoying rolling sea views beyond the garden. With a handy shower just outside, the terrace provides direct access into the utility room – perfect after a day on the beach. To the side of the house, guests will find sinks and plenty of storage for bikes and surf gear.

Tree House

Tucked away within the trees of the parking area sits an impressive hand-built tree house that’s sure to appeal to everyone’s inner child. Kids will love setting up a den inside with blankets and a picnic.

Parking

At the front of the house, you’ll find a large gravel driveway with more than enough parking for eight cars and an electric car charging point to the right of the front door. If you're heading down to the golden sands of Harlyn Bay, we'd recommend driving rather than walking as the narrow roads aren't necessarily pedestrian-friendly.
