With incredible sea views over Harlyn Bay, Pentyak has been finished to an exceptionally high standard. Each and every element has been carefully considered: from the floor-to-ceiling, angled non-glare windows that drench the open plan ground floor in natural light, to the sleek, contemporary furnishings and designed light fittings.
Children will fall in love with Pentyak’s wonderfully quirky features, from the wooden stair slide backed by a wall of stars to the cosy den, complete with portholes and bunk beds. Outside, they are free to run wild in the enclosed garden and will spend happy days playing in the custom-built treehouse and bouncing on the sunken trampoline.
Nestled in the corner of the garden, the newly built annexe enjoys views over the beach. It's a versatile space, featuring a multi games table (complete with air hockey, table football and pool), plus ample space for yoga enthusiasts to practice their flows, or for anyone seeking a moment of calm away from the group.
Sleeping up to 14 guests, three of the five bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, making this an ideal property for elderly relatives or guests with limited mobility. With huge floor-to-ceiling doors opening onto a private terrace, the master bedroom provides a tranquil haven for quiet moments away from the group.
The dog-friendly sands of Harlyn Bay are right on Pentyak’s doorstep and the popular Harlyn Surf School offer anything from private lessons to kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and coasteering.
Rick Stein’s Cornish Arms is just a walk over the fields and the foodie capital of Padstow is a short drive away. Surrounded by beautiful beaches and rolling countryside, this really is the pinnacle of family holidays.

Open Plan Kitchen, Living and Dining Area
Pentyak’s modern kitchen has been equipped to the highest of standards. A five-ring gas Rangemaster complete with hot plate, double oven and grill cooks large family meals to perfection, while a separate Neff oven and grill add extra flexibility. Two fridge-freezers plus a separate fridge built into the modern island provide plenty of food storage in the kitchen, while the walk-in larder is perfect for extra groceries. Take a seat at the dining table with a coffee from the Nespresso coffee machine, or peel open the bi-fold doors to welcome the breeze from the garden. The kitchen is also equipped with two dishwashers and a Quooker boiling water tap.
The star of the room has to be the meticulously stacked slate fireplace housing the wood burning stove. Take to the sofa on moody winter evenings and warm your hands as the fire flickers, or cosy into a plush bean bag as your favourite Blu-ray echoes through the SONOS sound systems from the flat screen Smart TV, complete with BT vision. Thoughtful interior details tie everything in this space together: the low-slung designer lighting, the wooden slide running alongside the stairs and twinkling diode-lit wall, and the cleverly slanted windows that maximise the view across Harlyn Bay.
Master Bedroom with En-Suite
The first of two master bedrooms, this enormous ground floor room comprises a super king size zip and link bed, with the versatile option to be a twin. The expansive sliding doors reveal beautiful sea views, while the private patio area just outside is perfect for early morning breakfasts. All the while, a rustic chest of drawers and a large built-in wardrobe maximise storage space.
The incredible en-suite is as impressive as the room itself, with an elegant roll-top bath, double sinks and a spacious walk-in rainfall shower. The master bedroom and en-suite is well-suited to guests with limited mobility.
Den
Separate from the main living areas and featuring a large flat screen TV, the den doubles up as a great children’s playroom. Benefiting from its own en-suite, there's a double bed and a single bunk for additional sleeping space.
You'll also find direct access into the front garden through sliding doors, and scenic views over the lawn - perfect for watching little ones bounce on the trampoline. Take to the bean bags by the window, or cosy up in one of two tasteful accent chairs, to challenge friends to a game on the Xbox Series S.
Bedroom Two
Bedroom two is a bright, calm bedroom with a super king size zip and link bed, which gives the added versatility of a twin room. A pair of rustic side tables add to the clean and classic design, while a built-in wardrobe provides plenty of storage. It also enjoys views of the treehouse at the front of the property.
Bedroom Three
Bedroom three is almost identical to bedroom two and located right next door. A super king size zip and link bed provides great versatility, and there’s ample storage space in the built-in wardrobe.
Family Bathroom
Complete with a deep sunken tub, a large walk-in rainfall shower and double sinks, the family bathroom is effortlessly elegant. Located just outside bedrooms two and three, it’s a brilliant fit for a family or two couples, with an additional cloakroom next door.
Utility Room
With external access to both the front of the house and the garden, this large room with underfloor heating is great for returning from long walks along the coast. There’s plenty of storage space for outdoor gear and luggage, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Bedroom Four with En-Suite
This is a great space for children, additional adults in the group or parents with young children wishing to share a room. The flexible zip and link beds can be set up as three singles or a super king and a single, while the low lofted roof and gable window welcome plenty of soft natural light.
The gorgeous en-suite bathroom is tiled from floor to ceiling in unusual wood effect tiles and features a large walk-in shower.
Bedroom Five with En-suite
With its far-reaching sea views, private balcony and spacious en-suite, bedroom five is a luxurious hideaway of its own. Featuring a king size bed, wake each morning to beautiful ocean vistas before tiptoeing onto the private balcony for coffee and croissants. Enhanced by an entire gable wall of glass, this room is fresh and spacious. Built-in wardrobes provide plenty of storage for holiday essentials, while a pair of armchairs provide a cosy spot to rest a while.
The en-suite bathroom houses a large walk-in shower and double sinks, while lofty ceilings invite plenty of natural light.
Annexe/Games Room
Nestled at the bottom of the garden and boasting views over the sea, the annexe offers a serene escape from the main house. Decorated in pale greens and muted tones, this space comes complete with yoga mats and blocks, making it the perfect spot to practice your sun salutation. For those seeking a little light-hearted competition, a multi games table provides endless entertainment, whether it's a game of pool, air hockey or table football. There’s also a wall-mounted smart TV, Krups coffee machine and built-in fridge for those looking to break away for a moment’s calm.
A large sea-facing window floods the room with natural light, while tranquil views over the surrounding countryside and sea provide a peaceful backdrop. This space can also be lit by modern LED lighting that guests can set to different colours including orange, green, pink and yellow via a remote control.
If you’re planning a retreat, this open plan space can fit up to seven yoga mats, while floor-to-ceiling sliding doors allow you to extend the session onto the patio that sits just outside.
Garden
Pentyak has a fantastic landscaped garden, gently sloping away from the wraparound terrace towards the expansive lawn. A sunken trampoline will provide hours of fun for children and adults alike, while sleepy dogs lounge on the grass after long coastal walks.
Terrace
The paved terrace wraps around the whole of the property, with plenty of seating and sun loungers for truly making the most of the outdoor space. A large dining table provides a lovely spot for lunch cooked on the gas barbeque, enjoying rolling sea views beyond the garden. With a handy shower just outside, the terrace provides direct access into the utility room – perfect after a day on the beach. To the side of the house, guests will find sinks and plenty of storage for bikes and surf gear.
Tree House
Tucked away within the trees of the parking area sits an impressive hand-built tree house that’s sure to appeal to everyone’s inner child. Kids will love setting up a den inside with blankets and a picnic.

At the front of the house, you’ll find a large gravel driveway with more than enough parking for eight cars and an electric car charging point to the right of the front door. If you're heading down to the golden sands of Harlyn Bay, we'd recommend driving rather than walking as the narrow roads aren't necessarily pedestrian-friendly.

Pentyak has a gravel parking area. To help navigate this, cars can be parked outside the front door where there's a large coir mat to aid guests using crutches, wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
The ground floor master bedroom and en-suite are suitable for guests with limited mobility. There are two entrances: a conventional door opening inwards from the hallway, and sliding doors from the patio just beyond the living area. The first entrance doesn't have any raised thresholds and is carpeted. The patio doors are wider but have a lip at the bottom.
The route down to Harlyn Bay Beach is narrow with no pavement, so we'd recommend guests with limited mobility are driven down to the car park for easiest access onto the sand. Please find more details about Pentyak on our Homes with Accessible Features page.

Extremely popular for surfing, the family friendly beach at Harlyn Bay is a haven for watersports enthusiasts of all abilities. Take to the waves with SUP or coasteering sessions with the fantastic team at Harlyn Surf School or explore a little further afield with a walk around the Seven Bays. Other nearby beaches include the sheltered cove of Trevone and the surrounding sandy bays of Constantine, Treyarnon and Porthcothan. Slightly further afield in Polzeath you can find George's Surf School. Led by experienced tutors, they offer both private and immersive lessons for surfers of all abilities.
Just a few sandy footsteps from the beach stands the brand new ‘The Harlyn’ taproom and restaurant, serving a selection of local Bluntrock Brewery ales and beers, as well as a curated wine and cocktail menu to please every palette. Enjoy relaxed beachside feasting with the choice of stone baked pizzas or fresh seafood cooked over charcoal embers. Pick up your beach picnic from sister company, Harlyn Supply Co. where fridges are stocked with the finest local produce and organic wines and soft drinks. Holidays at Harlyn Bay aren't complete without lunch or dinner at The Pig, which serves a great range of dishes from its 25-mile menu, sourced within the South West. Just down the road in Padstow, Rick Stein’s Seafood School will teach you how to forage for your supper, while exploring the world of Cornish wines at Camel Valley or Trevibban Mill comes highly recommended for finding your new favourite tipple. There’s a tempting array of local pubs nearby too, including The Cornish Arms in St Merryn.
Walkers should join the coast path from Harlyn Bay Beach and head north east towards Trevone. If you’re feeling adventurous, continue to Bedruthan Steps before retreating to Carnewas Tearooms for a jam-first cream tea. Stepper Point near Padstow affords spectacular coastal views, with the nearby Doom Bar and Camel Estuary well worth a visit too. Harlyn is surrounded by great golf courses, from Trevose nearby to St Enodoc less than 30 minutes away. For cyclists, the Camel Trail is a flat 18 mile stretch with The Snail’s Pace Café (perfect for lunch) halfway.
A real children’s playground, Harlyn and its surrounding areas have plenty to keep little ones entertained. Pull on your wellies and set off for a day out at Dairyland Farm World, let the kids run riot at Camel Creek Adventure Park or take to the seas and embrace the Cornish outdoors with a wildlife safari. With St Eval go-karting tracks nearby, and zip wire experiences for the thrill-seekers, you’ll never run out of entertaining options.
Only a short drive away, you’ll find the award-winning Cowshed Spa in Trebetherick. Enjoy a glass of champagne as you indulge in the exclusive beauty treatments, tried and tested at Babington House in Somerset. The renowned Scarlet Spa sits further along the coast in Mawgan Porth, home to cliff top hot tubs and memorable ocean views. Alternatively, The Headland in Newquay provides a lovely setting to relax and unwind with a dip in the pool or an indulgent massage.

Pentyak is a fantastic house with excellent quality facilities and furniture.

Pentyak was everything Perfect Stays promises it would be. We were a large group of three generations and Pentyak was enjoyed by all. The indoor slide and the tree house were a hit with the two youngsters. We enjoyed some lovely walks around Harlyn, particularly the short walk to the beach and the sauna on the beach was a hit - make sure the tides not going out though! We recently stayed at Pentyak in Harlyn Bay for a week, which we'd booked through Perfect Stays. Wow, what a place, and Perfect Stays provided us with the most Perfect Stay! They helped us choose Pentyak in Harlyn Bay after listening to what we were looking for from a holiday in Cornwall. There were three generations of us and a well-behaved dog. They had also provided recommendations of local places to eat and details of all the awesome local beaches. On the day we arrived, we received a call to make sure we were OK and received another call along the same lines during the week, which was really appreciated. Pentyak is the most fantastic house, perfect for all of us and so modern and so comfortable, with the most amazing views over Harlyn Bay.
The outside area and garden were superb too and, to top it all off, we had glorious sunshine every day except for just one. We hadn't stayed in this area before. We've often stayed a bit further up the North Cornwall coast, but this is our new favourite area. It's absolutely fantastic and had everything we needed and wanted within just a few miles. We can't wait to go back and can't thank Perfect Stays enough for providing such a wonderful place to be on holiday.
A great stay for a party of people aged seven to 70! Pentyak is an amazing place, beautifully designed, laid out and equipped perfectly. What really made it for us was the Concierge Service at Perfect Stays. Their team were amazing, sourcing a great private chef for a birthday dinner and responded immediately when there was a hot water issue. We had a lovely stay overall, we'd go back in a heartbeat and are planning to use Perfect Stays again!

Wow what a stunning property. It exceeded all our expectations and more. The rooms were very well thought out and worked well for our party. We loved the views, the modern house, the decor, the lighting, the SONOS sound system, the boot room, the multiple fridges, the log burner with extra logs, the underfloor heating. In fact we could not fault it al all . So well equipped and the dogs loved the hot water taps outside after their walks on the beach. We made many memories for a special birthday. Thank you so much. Pentyak at Christmas - unbelievably memorable! We stayed at Pentyak this Christmas with a multigenerational family. There is nothing negative to write at all, the house and its facilities all first class. Excellent amount of kitchen utensils, crockery, glasses, logs, hot water and a shop nearby, pub nearby, petrol station nearby, Harlyn Bay - the most beautiful beach a 10 minute walk away. Staying at Pentyak means you just turn up with your suitcase and everything you could possibly need is already there. Also the maintenance company on hand were so helpful and friendly too. Perfect Stays are a really nice company to deal with - I had not heard of them when I booked Pentyak but I will use them again no question - helpful, responsive and professional - oh and very friendly too!
Gosh where do I start with reviewing Pentyak?!
My husband was diagnosed with a limiting illness last year so we thought it a great idea to have a big family Christmas in a big house as there is quite a few of us and multigenerational to boot. To say Pentyak exceeded our expectations by a mile is not enough! The facilities and appliances were of such high standard we couldn't quite believe it (never experienced such luxury in a rental property before). My 90 year old mum who is not a great sleeper at the best of times, slept all night every night in the super comfy beds - a revelation in itself! While Pentyak is such a high end property, we didn't feel it was at all 'precious' and we felt so comfortable - to be able to relax completely. I would love it if you could pass on my thanks and appreciation to the Property owners, their home is truly spectacular and allowed us to create some terrific memories. We will return at some point but maybe next time as a summer holiday.
The whole family, aged between 72 and 2, were delighted to stay at Pentyak. It has so much open plan space but several different areas for different activities. The big hits with the children were the stair slide, garden trampoline and den, complete with large screen (and fridge)! The kitchen was extremely well equipped, so many dishwashers, fridges and ovens etc.- bedrooms were large and airy and we had a wonderful view of the bay. A light show ensued every night in my efforts to turn on the bedside lamp but it was fun! A relaxing house, lovely to return to at the end of the day.
Simply unmatched. Certainly in the UK, possibly on earth. Yes the houses are breathtakingly stunning. Yes the locations bring tears to the eyes of any hardened five-star traveller… but the team is simply the best. Not something one can say often. Well done Perfect Stays.

As soon as we stepped into the house the views down to Harlyn take your breath away! Pentyak did not disappoint, neither did the weather! Precious family time celebrating the grandparents 80th. Walks to Padstow, wine tastings, The Cornish Arms, swims in Harlyn Bay. Glorious sunrises and sunsets! Wildflowers in bloom and fresh sea air... Cornwall re-charged our batteries and we did not want to leave...
Here for the second time and the house was just as fantastic as the first time. We've seen the view in all weather - sun, sea, storm, high winds and rain! We love the layout, everyone included all the time. Great views, great venue, great time had by all.
We stayed at Pentyak near Harlyn Bay Beach. The house is just stunning. Wonderfully spacious and with the most incredible view down over the beach. The house was very well equipped.
We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully appointed, family orientated house. There are many fun features for children, lots of corners and cushions for playing, stories, snuggling up etc. The view is stunning! I would happily recommend it to anyone.
Staying at Pentyak truly lived up to our expectations. The accommodation was as described and we found the property in a spotless condition. The view from the property encompasses the whole of Harlyn Bay and we found it possible to walk to the main beach area in 15 to 20 minutes. With three fridges and two washing machines plus extensive storage, the property was ideal for our large family group.
Another great holiday at Pentyak. This is our 3rd time at the house and we have booked for next year. We never tire of the view or the great facilities and with so much space everyone can have time and space to themselves. The local beaches are similarly great though Padstow can get a bit too busy!
