With charming interiors and space in abundance, Rosevean invites extra special family holidays in North Cornwall. Comfortably welcoming 16 guests, this dog-friendly home offers generous sociable spaces and well-appointed bedrooms. Whether it's by cooking up a feast in the bright and airy kitchen, unwinding with a book by the wood burner, or enjoying a movie together in the TV room, it promises the perfect escape. All the while, find yourself a 20-minute walk from iconic surf and golden sand.
Decorated in calming hues with subtle splashes of colour, the eight bedrooms and six bathrooms are spread over two floors. The master bedroom features a super king bed and a lavish en-suite, as well as a private deck and fire pit for starlit evenings just beyond the sliding doors. It's a tempting sanctuary at the far end of the house, making it ideal for couples. A further three bedrooms are situated on this floor, all overlooking the garden and sleeping six guests between them.
Upstairs, there are four more bedrooms, offering a versatile combination of zip and link beds, fixed king size rooms and a bunk room for younger guests. Bedroom three benefits from turquoise sea glimpses and is one of two en-suite bedrooms upstairs. You'll also find a bright and spacious family bathroom that completes the first floor set in cream tiling.
Glorious garden views can be enjoyed from the cosy living area, with a wood burner for toasty evenings and a cocktail making station when celebrations are in order. Meanwhile, the separate TV and games room is a delightful space; both when the sun is shining and the doors open wide, or when indulging in a movie night after dark. A central hub for entertaining, the open plan kitchen and dining area is a sociable space for cooking and enjoying holiday banquets. It opens straight out onto the suntrap garden, making it easy to lay the table with fresh summer salads and chilled drinks pulled from the wine fridge.
Outside, embrace the garden from the wraparound deck, which catches the sunlight throughout the day. Shrouded by greenery, the fire pit area offers a blissfully private spot for two, whilst the outdoor sofas, dining tables, and sun loungers dotted throughout are perfect for card games with the family. Booby’s Bay is just around the point and Harlyn Bay is a five minute drive away, where Harlyn Surf School offers everything from surf lessons and coasteering to kayak tours and stand up paddle boarding.
Just a short drive away, Padstow is home to a range of award-winning restaurants, including the Michelin starred Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 and Rick Stein’s renowned Seafood Restaurant. Both chefs also have their own cookery schools. For casual dining, we’d recommend Rafferty’s Wine Bar or The Cornish Arms in St Merryn. And if wine is your passion, visit the nearby Trevibban Mill or discover Cornwall’s best vineyards with Cornish Wine Tastings.
Hire bikes in Padstow and embark on the picturesque Camel Trail, which will take you along the estuary, through Wadebridge and out towards Bodmin Moor. Walkers will relish the South West Coast Path, with lovely walks to Trevose Lighthouse and Porthcothan. With a seasonal outdoor pool, tennis courts and range of spa treatments, the Trevose Golf and Country Club is a great option for some nearby pampering, with plenty of options for complete and utter relaxation. For the ultimate indulgence, we’d recommend heading to Mawgan Porth for a spa day or evening at The Scarlet Hotel Spa and relaxing in the open air hot tub, or indulging in one of the high quality treatments on offer at the Bedruthan Hotel Spa.
The nearby Camel Creek Adventure Park is perfect for children of all ages, with family friendly rides, animal encounters and play areas. The Bullpen Soft Play is another great option for a rainy day, with lots of indoor and outdoor activities, feeding opportunities, nature trails and tractor rides. We understand that some holidays aren’t complete without a four-legged friend by your side. Here are a few reminders for bringing your dogs with you to Rosevean:
Dogs staying at the property must be over 12 months old. To keep the bedrooms and furniture fur-free and to avoid any damage, we ask that dogs are kept out/off these areas and sleep in their own beds/crates in the boot room overnight. Please make sure to pick up any dog mess from all outside areas before you leave, and place it in the rubbish bins provided. We understand that accidents happen, so if your dog has a slip-up on a carpeted area, please let the housekeeping team know so they can arrange a professional clean (charges may apply). Please make sure dogs are clean and dry on your return to the property to avoid muddy paw prints inside. It’s best you bring dog towels with you as the house towels aren’t suitable to dry dogs with. For safety reasons, we ask that dogs aren’t left unattended at the property, or in your car, at any time during your stay. Looking for a dog sitter? Perfect Stays can organise one for you as part of our inclusive concierge service (subject to availability).
