We know our guests love a celebration, so we've compiled a list of the best places to spend New Year's Eve in Devon. From fancy dress street parties in pretty fishing villages, to elegant black-tie dinners in Devon's towns and cities, and live music on the coast, there's something for everyone. We have compiled a list of the best ways to ring in 2026 in North Devon and South Devon, including family-friendly events that kick off the celebrations early and extravagant parties that will go on late into the night.
Find inspiration for glittering galas, spectacular firework displays and cocktails aplenty for your New Year's Eve break in Devon.
Take to the narrow streets for a night of celebration and admire the skies as they light up with Dartmouth's New Year's Eve fireworks when the clock strikes midnight. Revellers dressed in a variety of creative costumes flock to the South Embankment awaiting the chime of church bells - it's a tradition not to be missed.
If you're planning your own New Year's Eve in Dartmouth, don't miss our recommendations for the best pubs and restaurants in town. Enjoy cocktails and champagne at Bar 1620's glitter and bubble party, or celebrate at The Dartmouth Hotel, where there will be fine dining, fizz and dancing.
Welcome the New Year with a dazzling display over the waves at Bigbury-on-Sea. Each year, the iconic Burgh Island puts on a spectacular fireworks show, drawing crowds to the beach for a magical midnight moment. With the sound of champagne corks popping and voices joining in a chorus of Auld Lang Syne, it will be a truly unforgettable way to ring in 2026 by the sea. Start the festivities early at Burgh Island Hotel, where cocktails and canapés will be served from 6.30pm in the Palm Court Bar. The Grand Ballroom will come to life at 8pm, with a delicious dinner, music, dancing and cabaret.
Gather your friends and family for an informal meal, live music and DJs until 2am, with drinks galore at The Old Warehouse. The tempting menu includes a selection of burgers, cheesecakes and ice cream, as well as kids' options. With two sittings for 40 guests, families can dine early at 5pm and be home in time for pre-bedtime fireworks, while late-night revellers can dine at 7:30pm and keep the champagne flowing.
For a more sophisticated affair, enjoy a seven-course gala dinner, live music and firework display at Buckland Tout-Saints Hotel on the outskirts of Kingsbridge.
See in the New Year in a stunning seaside village on the South Devon coastline. Details are yet to be confirmed for NYE events in Hope Cove, but expect delicious menus, fancy dress and live music to say goodbye to 2025 in style. Last year, The Hope and Anchor hosted an 80s disco, perfect for dancing and celebrating together after devouring one of their festive feasts. In previous years, The Cove Bar and Restaurant has hosted live music events, perfect for partying the night away by the sea. Keep your eyes peeled for details of this year's event details.
To enjoy the final hours of 2025 in South Devon with someone special in an intimate setting, we recommend the picturesque coastal town of Salcombe. Thirty-Three by the Sea will be serving up mouth-watering starters and festive favourites for a memorable New Year's Eve meal on the coast. Choose from sumptuous meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, served with mulled wine glazed pigs in blankets, chorizo creamed sprouts and honey glazed vegetables, followed by a luxurious chocolate tart or tropical pavlova.

Ring in 2026 in one of Devon's most picturesque locations. Illuminated by enchanting festive lights, the quaint harbour attracts a good group of New Year's revellers every year. This year, the Red Lion will open its doors for a marvellous Medieval-themed NYE party. Expect fireworks, music and fancy dress at these fun-filled celebrations in the beautiful fishing village of Clovelly.
With a multitude of bars, clubs and party venues, Exeter is a top choice for New Year's Eve revelry in Devon. Whether live music at a local pub is your scene, or a fancy dress party is more your thing, be sure to step outside at midnight to marvel at the firework display. Exeter Phoenix will be hosting a magical fairytale-themed party, complete with live music and a silent disco in the Ice Queen's Palace, a Gingerbread Cottage bar and Princess Prosecco bar. For a celebratory New Year's Eve dinner in Exeter, don your glad rags for a three-course dinner and disco at Mercure Rougemont Hotel, or the black-tie seven-course champagne dinner and DJ event at The Devon Hotel.
Enjoy an evening of elegance at Deer Park in South Devon. A beautiful country house, Deer Park is a truly spectacular location for a night of celebration – dress up, wander the gardens in candlelight and take to the dancefloor after supper. Come midnight, clink glasses as fireworks light up the night sky before retreating inside for coffee and chocolates in the lounge. This year's sought-after event includes a sparkling reception with canapés, a four-course dinner, and live music from Bill Ding and The Skyscrapers. The market town of Honiton has traditional pubs and tempting eateries in abundance, to suit every taste for a special New Year's Eve dinner. Further afield, surrounded by the Devonshire hills on the outskirts of Honiton, the PIG at Combe offers garden to plate cuisine, a roaring fire and celebratory drinks galore.
For families, there's a free event at Plymouth's waterfront, complete with fairground rides, live music and food. Almost as popular as the city's British Firework Championships, the NYE spectacle does get fairly busy, so we'd recommend getting there early to secure a frontline spot. For adults, the iconic Home Park Stadium transforms into a party venue for New Year's Eve, featuring a red carpet and bubbly reception, three-course dinner, live music, photobooth fun and firework display. Nearby Boringdon Hall will be hosting a glamorous New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball, with an exquisite four-course dinner, champagne and live music inside the grand Great Hall.
Join in the family celebrations at the Kids New Year's Eve Party in Bideford, where there will be live music, crafts, games, a bouncy castle and a disco in the afternoon. Carry on the celebrations with themed street parties, fancy dress and live music, then join the other revellers around the quay at midnight for a dazzling display of fireworks, followed by a sing-song of Auld Lange Syne. Bideford's legendary street party is popular with both locals and visitors alike, promising a memorable way to welcome 2026.
