This beautiful dog-friendly home is just a short stroll from the centre of Rock, with its vibrant selection of restaurants, shops and delis. On-trend coastal interiors, spacious living areas and a pretty garden combine to create a charming hideaway for families, couples and groups of friends. 

The open plan kitchen, dining and living space provides a central hub for entertaining and relaxing; with a modern kitchen for sociable cooking and a large sofa for nightcaps by the wood burner. Bi-fold doors open out from the living area onto a paved terrace and tranquil garden with wildflower planting, ideal for cocktails after a busy day.

The stylish ground floor master bedroom is a real sanctuary, with a king size bed and large en-suite bathroom featuring a spacious shower. Bedroom two includes a luxurious 5ft zip and link bed, perfect for quiet mornings reading the newspapers. On the first floor, you’ll find bedroom three with dual-aspect windows and a unique loft-style zip and link bed.

Open plan Kitchen, Living and Dining Area

The kitchen’s quartz worktop and spacious island with bar-style seating creates an inviting space to prepare family meals. Aspiring chefs will love the built-in kitchen appliances, including a Neff oven, combi-oven with microwave and induction hob. Meanwhile, the large larder style cupboard and LG American-style fridge-freezer provide plenty of space for unloading food shops. The vaulted dining area has space for six to eight around the table, where the fully extending bi-fold doors welcome the outdoors in, perfect for a lazy brunch or sunset barbeque.

Featuring a paved terrace, wildflower planting and a charcoal barbeque, the outdoor space is a lovely spot to relax in the sun. Lose yourself in a good book from the comfort of a deck chair, or curl up on the garden bench with a cocktail in hand. 

An outdoor shower is available at the side of the property, ideal for washing sandy paws, wetsuits or bodyboards after a day on the beach.

Parking and EV charger

The spacious gravel driveway includes a five-bar gate and has ample parking for three cars. At the front of the house you’ll find a handy 22Kw untethered electric car charging point for use throughout your stay.

Outdoor pursuits

Running through Rock, the South West Coast Path is the perfect way to explore North Cornwall’s rugged coastline. Follow the path to Daymer Bay and enjoy breathtaking views from Brea Hill or continue onto Pentire Point and Polzeath if you’re feeling energetic. The scenic Camel Trail starts across the estuary in Padstow and is fantastic for family-friendly cycle rides. The renowned St Enodoc Golf Club is in the heart of Rock, and Trevose, Bowood and St Kew Golf Clubs are all within a 35 minute drive.

Activities for children

Other than the many gorgeous beaches nearby, there are plenty of alternatives for children to enjoy. The Camel Creek Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm World are perfect for the little ones to meet and feed the animals before running around in the indoor play area to let off some steam. Younger children will relish rainy days spent at the charming Macdonald’s Farm near Porthcothan. And for history enthusiasts, we’d recommend a day trip to the mythical Tintagel Castle, which is about 35 minutes away by car.

Beaches and watersports

The dog friendly Rock Beach runs alongside the Camel Estuary and has stunning views across Padstow. Just around the coastal path is the beautiful Daymer Bay and the popular surfing beach of Polzeath is also just a short drive away. Rock is a haven for sailing, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking, and adrenaline junkies will love coasteering with Cornish Rock Tors. Polzeath and Harlyn Bay have a range of fantastic surf schools for lessons and equipment hire, suitable for all abilities.

Food and drink

An unforgettable destination for foodies, Rock is home to Four Boys Cafe, The Pityme Inn and The Dining Room. Just down the road, The Mariners run by Paul Ainsworth is also highly recommended for a delicious bite to eat or laid back drink. Alternatively, hop on the water taxi to Padstow to sample the delights of Paul Ainsworth at Number 6, Caffè Rojano and the iconic Rick Stein’s. The Cornish Wine Tours experience also starts in Padstow, and there’s no better way to discover Cornwall’s award-winning vineyards or sample some fine wines.

Festivals and events

Taking place at Roskear Farm near Wadebridge, the Rock Oyster Festival is one of North Cornwall’s most popular events. Usually held in July each year, it’s a wonderful celebration of artisan food, music and art. Just across the estuary, Padstow’s annual Christmas Festival is the perfect way to kick off the festive season. Held at the beginning of December, the popular fishing village comes alive with cooking demonstrations, local produce and a Santa fun run.

Driftwood is in a great area in Rock, it's very quiet with an easy walk to local shops, restaurants and bars. I'd definitely recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.
