For skateboarders and BMX enthusiasts, you'll find Mount Hawke Skate Park just a 10-minute drive away, an indoor attraction which is perfect for all weathers. For an authentic farm experience, head to Callestick Farm to meet the animals and sample delicious Cornish ice cream made on site.
During the school holidays (Easter, summer, October half term and Christmas) book tickets for Rogue Theatre at Tehidy Woods, for an immersive wild theatre experience amongst the trees. In St Agnes itself, there are play areas at Goonown and West Kitty, as well as Trevaunance Cove on the doorstep, perfect for sandcastle building, rock pooling and swimming.
The charming town of St Agnes has a thriving food scene, with a variety of pubs, cafés and bakeries. For a laid back beachfront experience, Schooners offers pizza, small plates and cocktails, overlooking the waves. St Agnes Bakery is the place to visit for savoury pastries and sweet treats, perfect for packing a picnic for the beach.
Dine at the Peterville in for contemporary pub suppers and Sunday lunches, or The St Agnes Inn, a dog-friendly pub with a fantastic reputation for home-cooked food. Head to Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm for Sunday roasts and cream teas with a twist, and enjoy a tractor ride through the orchard to learn how cider is made.
Trevaunance Cove is the main beach in St Agnes and is great for swimming, surfing and kayaking, with lifeguards from May until September. When hunger strikes, soak up the scenery at Schooners with pizza and a local beer from Verdant Taproom. To escape the crowds, Trevellas Cove is just a short walk away and is a lovely secluded spot for beach days and watersports.
Three miles along the coast path, Chapel Porth is a beautiful beach which is ideal for rock pooling and experienced surfers, with a beach café serving hot drinks, hot lunches and ice creams. Porthtowan is a Blue Flag beach, just three miles from St Agnes, which is another popular surfing spot and home to The Blue Bar, a great choice for a sunset drink. Book a lesson with Breakers Surf School in St Agnes or explore the coastline from the water with Koru Kayaking on a guided tour.
Embrace Cornwall's rich mining heritage and windswept coastline, with panoramic views from St Agnes Beacon and spectacular scenery from the South West Coast Path. Poldark fans will recognise Wheal Coates and St Agnes Head, en route to Chapel Porth Beach, while in the other direction, the coast path leads to Trevellas Cove and Cligga Head near Perranporth.
This stretch of the north coast has ample opportunity for wildlife-watching, as well as engine house ruins to discover. Cyclists can ride the off-road Saint's Trail towards Truro, while watersports enthusiasts can enjoy surfing, sea kayaking or windsurfing. Head to Goonbell Riding Centre for horse riding lessons or Perranporth Golf Club for an 18-hole, par 72 golf course with stunning ocean views.

During the May bank holiday, the Bolster Festival celebrates local folklore with a fabulous lantern procession to St Agnes Beacon, and a pageant re-enacting the legend of the Bolster giant. In August, the popular annual event 'Aggie Carnival' takes place, featuring colourful floats, fancy dress and live music.
Nearby, Healeys Cyder Farm's Rattler Fest (April) and Little Orchard Festival (September), along with The Watering Hole's Tunes in the Dunes Festival (June) are great for families and music-lovers. Dogs staying at the property must be over 12 months old To keep the bedrooms and furniture fur-free and to avoid any damage, we ask that dogs are kept out/off these areas and sleep in their own beds/crates in the utility overnight Please make sure to pick up any dog mess from all outside areas before you leave, and place it in the rubbish bins provided We understand that accidents happen, so if your dog has a slip-up on a carpeted area, please let the housekeeping team know so they can arrange a professional clean (charges may apply) Please make sure dogs are clean and dry on your return to the property to avoid muddy paw prints inside. It’s best you bring dog towels with you as the house towels aren’t suitable to dry dogs with.
