Named after the lighthouse on the Lizard Peninsula, this beautiful abode sleeps up to six guests and is perfectly placed for saltwater adventures. Situated in the heart of Harlyn Bay with the beach almost on the doorstep, there’s no better location to take in the seaside air.
On summer days, enjoy serene coastal surroundings from the first floor lounge, as the afternoon sun streams in through the gable windows. On colder nights, cosy around the wood burner and relax with a movie on the smart TV.
Cook up a family feast in the bright and spacious kitchen before indulging in a hearty homemade meal around the dining table. Retire with the taste of sea air on your lips to luxurious bedrooms set over two floors.
The master bedroom boasts an elevated position and an impressive en-suite shower room, whilst the two additional bedrooms benefit from the use of the family bathroom, with a bath tub and overhead shower.
For lovers of the great outdoors, mornings are best spent in the hot tub, arriving in January 2022.
Spend your days mastering the surf at the beach just minutes away, or head over to Padstow to explore the Camel Trail. If walking is in order, pick up the South West Coast Path from Harlyn Bay, heading north east towards Trevone or south west towards Constantine Bay, the perfect way to explore this historical stretch of coastline.
Head back to Lizard and hang up your wetsuits or shake off your wellies in the spacious utility room. The wet room is perfectly placed just next door for washing away excess sand.
For large group stays, Lizard is also available to book alongside its neighbouring properties Longships and Wolf Rock, each sleeping six guests just moments from the sea.

While just down the road in Padstow, you’ll find Paul Ainsworth’s Number 6 and the lovely St Petroc’s Bistro. Rick Stein’s Padstow Seafood School will teach you how to forage for your supper, while exploring the world of Cornish wines at Camel Valley or Trevibban Mill comes highly recommended for finding your new favourite tipple. There’s a tempting array of local pubs nearby too, including The Cornish Arms in St Merryn.

Outdoor pursuits
Walkers should join the coast path from Harlyn Bay Beach and head north east towards Trevone. If you’re feeling adventurous, continue to Bedruthan Steps before retreating to Carnewas Tearooms for a jam-first cream tea. Stepper Point near Padstow affords spectacular coastal views, with the nearby Doom Bar and Camel Estuary well worth a visit too. Harlyn is surrounded by great golf courses, from Trevose nearby to St Enodoc less than 30 minutes away. For cyclists, the Camel Trail is a flat 18 mile stretch with The Snail’s Pace Café (perfect for lunch) halfway.

Activities for children
A real children’s playground, Harlyn and its surrounding areas have plenty to keep little ones entertained. Pull on your wellies and set off for a day out at Dairyland Farm World, let the kids run riot at Camel Creek Adventure Park or take to the seas and embrace the Cornish outdoors with a wildlife safari. With St Eval go-karting tracks nearby, and zip wire experiences for the thrill-seekers, you’ll never run out of entertaining options.

Time for pampering
Only a short drive away, you’ll find the award-winning Cowshed Spa in Trebetherick. Enjoy a glass of champagne as you indulge in the exclusive beauty treatments, tried and tested at Babington House in Somerset. The renowned Scarlet Spa sits further along the coast in Mawgan Porth, home to cliff top hot tubs and memorable ocean views. Alternatively, The Fistral Spa in Newquay provides a lovely setting to relax and unwind with a dip in the pool or an indulgent massage.

Padstow’s annual Christmas Festival is the perfect way to kick off the festive season. Usually held at the beginning of December, this popular fishing village comes alive with an array of tastes, smells, sounds and unique gifts. We booked in Summer 2020 for a week's stay in Lizard for Easter 2021. Sadly the booking was for the week before lockdown restrictions are lifted. I am very impressed though with how the team at Perfect Stays have handled this situation. We have been updated regularly and been left in no doubt that our stay/deposit was safe. Contact has been clear, precise and professional. We have now had a refund as we could not arrange the dates to stay again, but we are definitely going to book for next year.
