As the crowds thin out, the South West turns wonderfully restful. Autumn welcomes dramatic skies and empty beaches, while winter brings wood burners, walks that earn a long lunch, and a sense of getting away from it all. Many homes are available for short breaks of three to five nights during these quieter months.
