Surf conditions are excellent on the north coast, the autumn light is breath-taking on the coast path. Attractions like the Eden Project, Tintagel Castle and The Lost Gardens of Heligan all run brilliant half term programmes. Our holiday homes in Polzeath, Rock, Padstow and St Ives are particularly popular at this time of year, with sea views, wood burners and beachside settings.
October in Cornwall is typically mild, autumnal and atmospheric. Average temperatures are between 13 and 15°C, with longer spells of settled weather common earlier in the month. Rain is more likely than in summer, but Cornwall's landscape is beautifully dramatic in autumn light. We have lots of dog-friendly holiday homes. From beachside locations to rinse stations and enclosed gardens, we have all you need for a dog-friendly getaway. What's more, October is a really great time to visit Cornwall, Devon and Somerset with your four-legged friends. Summer beach restrictions are lifted from the start of the month, meaning dogs can run freely on most beaches. The South West Coast Path is spectacular in autumn and there's many lovely pubs and cafés that welcome dogs.
