Recommendations for Dog-Friendly Holidays

When booking a holiday property with Perfect Stays, you will need to include the number of dogs you intend to bring with you as part of the booking process.

Not all holiday homes in our collection are dog-friendly, but those that do allow dogs specify how many are welcome on the website listing.

Many of our dog-friendly properties are close to the beach and some have enclosed gardens, perfect for playing fetch. We advise guests to bring dog towels with them to dry off canine companions who love jumping in the waves, or when returning from adventures on a rainy day. Some properties have outdoor showers, which are perfect for rinsing off sandy or muddy paws.

We recommend bringing your own dog bed, food bowls, lead and anything else you require to take care of your dog. Most properties have a designated area for dogs to sleep in, such as a utility room, which you can enquire about when booking.

For dog-friendly properties, guests can bring one dog for £60 and any additional dogs for an additional £30. The number of dogs allowed per booking is dependent on the size of the property and preference of the owners. Full details and dog rules can be found on each property listing, or you can discuss the details with us when booking or making an enquiry over the phone.

The fees cover the additional cleaning that is required following a dog-friendly stay.

A list of clear and concise rules can be found in the ‘need to know’ section on each property listing. For example, dogs must be over 12 months old and should sleep in their own bed or crate in a designated area overnight.
We ask that guests clean up after their dog and take measures to avoid muddy or sandy paws inside the property.

Dogs should not be left unattended in the holiday home or in a car during your stay. Our Concierge team can assist with organising trusted dog sitters and can recommend dog-friendly beaches, restaurants and attractions in the local area.

For safety reasons, we ask guests to ensure that dogs aren’t left unattended inside the holiday home or inside a car. Therefore, if you plan to visit a restaurant or attraction that doesn’t welcome dogs, we recommend booking a dog sitter in advance.

Using our inclusive concierge service is a great way of securing a trusted dog sitter before your holiday. Additionally, our team can assist with dog-friendly recommendations, such as table bookings, places to visit, walking itineraries and information about which beaches are dog-friendly at different times of year.

We encourage all our property owners to accommodate dogs wherever possible. To keep bedrooms and furniture clean and fur-free, we ask guests to keep their four-legged friends away from these areas.

During the night, dogs should sleep in their own bed or crate, in the designated area of the property, which is usually the utility room.

Many of our luxury holiday homes do have enclosed gardens, which are perfect for young families and those staying with their four-legged friend. However, some properties have large, open gardens, or they’re located in a clifftop position, so we’d recommend checking these details when booking.

Where properties do have enclosed gardens, we can’t guarantee that curious dogs won’t be able to escape, so we wouldn’t recommend leaving a dog unattended in an outside space. Our properties are surrounded by idyllic countryside, so there’s always a rural walking route or a beautiful beach to be found nearby for waggy-tailed adventures.

All dogs staying in our properties must be over 12 months old, therefore puppies are unable to join guests on their staycation. This rule helps to ensure that our properties are left in a clean condition, with no damages or breakages.

Dogs over 12 months are welcome in our dog-friendly holiday homes, which are perfectly positioned for exploring spectacular scenery in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.

The majority of dog-friendly properties within our portfolio welcome all breeds and sizes of canine companion. If there are any restrictions regarding this, it will be stated clearly on the ‘need to know’ section of the individual property listing on our website. Our terms and conditions specify any additional rules, for example, we follow the government’s list of banned dogs including XL bullies.

If in doubt, you can speak to one of our Property Advisors  for clarification. We recommend checking specific details for each property before booking.

All guests pay a refundable security deposit when booking a property. In the event of any accidental breakages or damage, a fee may be deducted from the deposit before it’s returned.

The same may apply if guests don’t clean up after their dog, so we advise checking the house and garden before you leave the property. If any damages occur during your stay, or any professional cleaning is required, we recommend that you inform us straight away.
