For those staying in the Looe or Downderry area, there are some fantastic circular walks to make the most of the spectacular coastal surroundings. We recommend the Polruan to Polperro walk, to enjoy wildlife, wildflowers and views of turquoise waters along this beautiful stretch of coast, once smuggling territory. Additionally, the Lantivet Bay circular walk provides views of azure waters below lush green hills.

Further down the coast, walkers can enjoy breath-taking views of St Austell Bay. One of our favourites includes the Dodman long loop trail, where you can enjoy beautiful beach views from the highest headland on the south coast of Cornwall. There are also many delightful walks around the Fowey Estuary, where you take in views of St Catherine’s Castle and Daphne du Maurier’s houses. 

If you’re holidaying in and around St Mawes, we suggest the Carne Beach to Nare Head circular walk, to appreciate the sublime scenery on the Roseland Peninsula, or the St Anthony Head circular walk, where you’ll find a majestic lighthouse, an old military fort and far-reaching views across Falmouth Bay.
