Middle Hobby

Daymer Bay, CornwallSleeps: 10 - 12Bedrooms: 5Bathrooms: 5

Home > Our Properties > Middle Hobby
A fantastically modern beach house with views spanning Daymer Bay, a stay at Middle Hobby is the perfect excuse to switch off from everyday life.
  • Far-reaching sea views
  • Sleek open plan design
  • Crackling wood burner
  • First floor balcony
  • Dedicated TV room
  • Outdoor shower

Where Cornwall’s countryside melts into the ocean, Middle Hobby provides an enticing coastal refuge. Finished in sleek, modern interiors, this bright and breezy home is ideal for large group escapes by the sea.

With accents of lustrous metal and polished wood, Middle Hobby’s open plan kitchen and dining area leads straight onto the garden through expansive glass doors. Featuring a brilliant white central island, industrial style fittings and a grand dining table, this sociable space is perfect for laid back lunches with a view. The living room is cleverly sectioned off from the rest of the open plan area and features a crackling fire and flat screen TV. A zip and link bedroom with its own en-suite sits alongside a separate snug on the ground floor, which benefits from a sofa bed and Smart TV.

Edged by glass, head up the stairs and look out across gorgeous views spanning Brea Hill and Daymer Bay. A trio of tartan sofas provide an inviting spot to watch the weather roll in from the lounge or step onto the glass-fronted balcony to breathe in the sea air.

Four spacious bedrooms share a clean and classic style, with soft beachy interiors paying homage to the coastline. With three of the bedrooms enjoying their own en-suites, two with zip and link beds and two soaking up coastal views, the bedroom layout is well-suited to families and groups of friends. Adorned in deep grey tiles, a family bathroom completes the floor.

Lovely and private, the garden has been designed to maximise the views across the bay. A large dining table sits atop a paved terrace, while the lawn encourages little ones to let off some steam. Fire up the barbeque and raise a glass as the sun sets over the water. A short walk from Polzeath and Daymer Bay, you’ll be spoilt for choice with beautiful beaches. If watersports are your thing, enjoy sailing, kayaking and water-skiing in Rock, while a more leisurely afternoon awaits at the nearby Cowshed Spa.

More about theGround Floor

Kitchen and Dining Area

Bright, airy and modern, Middle Hobby’s kitchen is adorned in crisp whites and stylish greys, making it a relaxed culinary haven. Complete with two Neff ovens and induction hob, plus a wine cooler, there’s plenty of space to share your favourite holiday meals. An American style fridge-freezer stows away weekly groceries, while the dishwasher cleans up in minutes.

A spacious kitchen island with oak accented stools provides the ideal spot for socialising, and a sleek mirror behind the hob ensures the designated chef doesn’t miss out on a moment of the fun.

Great for family dinners, the expansive dining table is undoubtedly one of the home’s high points. Awash in light purple tones, settle down at the table and enjoy breakfast banquets as you gaze across coast and countryside through the enormous bi-fold doors. A Bose SoundDock is a wonderful finishing touch to the room, encouraging early morning rises where a morning playlist is sure to put a spring in your step. When the winter chill sets in, light the wood burner and fill the space with warmth for cosy after-dinner drinks.

Please note that guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob as this can interfere with the device.

Living Area

Vibrant artwork, bright cushions and a curved navy sofa are the focal points of the living area. Continue the socialising late into the night, where the Smart TV and Netflix can provide background entertainment for the evening.

TV Room

Another Smart TV and Netflix subscription make this room the perfect hideaway for stormy days, whilst the lively artwork and berry tones add character. Slump into the charcoal sofa and relax to the backdrop of the waves as you while away quiet afternoons in front of the TV. Also doubling up as the sixth bedroom, the sofa bed can comfortably sleep two younger guests.

Bedroom Five with En-suite

Predominantly neutral and laid back in design, bedroom five is bright and breezy. Playful cushions and a colourful throw inject a splash of colour to the space, whilst the zip and link bed offers the versatility of two singles or a super king.

Awash in grey and white tones, bedroom five’s en-suite features a waterfall shower.

Utility

With direct outdoor access, a washing machine, tumble dryer and wall mounted de-humidifier are handy additions to the utility, freshening up sandy beach towels and wetsuits with ease.

WC

A WC occupies the ground floor.

More about theFirst Floor

Lounge Area

Flooded with natural light, the first floor lounge area is a bright and airy suntrap. Sink into the checked sofa, cosy up with a good book and soak up the panoramic views across Daymer Bay. With the balcony footsteps away, tiptoe out and take in the fresh sea air.

Master Bedroom with En-suite

A gorgeous super king size room with countryside and ocean views, the master bedroom features a subtle neutral design. Take advantage of the blinds, where you can transform the bedroom from a bright and open space to a dark and cosy hideaway in seconds. An expanse of glass doors opens out onto the private balcony, perfect for early morning coffees.

This bedroom also benefits from a sleek en-suite with waterfall shower.

Bedroom Two with En-suite

Featuring another super king bed, bedroom two shares direct access onto the glass edged balcony - leave the blinds open to awake to streams of natural light as the sun rises above the horizon. Clad in pastel greys and cool whites, start the morning off on the right foot with a relaxing rinse under the waterfall shower in bedroom two’s en-suite.

Bedroom Three with En-suite

Bedroom three affords further flexibility with a zip and link bed, offering the option of twins or a super king. Fresh, modern and laid back, sink into the plush mattress after day trips exploring the north coast.

A crisp and clean en-suite makes getting ready a breeze, with a luxurious waterfall shower.

Bedroom Four

Featuring another zip and link bed, bedroom four is perfect for versatile sleeping arrangements. The elegant combination of characterful artwork and colourful cushions add to the coastal atmosphere in each of the bedrooms.

Bathroom

Adorned in fresh whites and chic grey tiles, the family bathroom is designed with serenity in mind. Due to the other bedrooms benefitting from en-suites, this bathroom primarily serves bedroom four. Complete with a waterfall shower and deep bath tub, indulge with a bubble bath in the evenings after tiring adventures tackling the coast path.

Garden and Terrace

With stunning views across rolling countryside and the ocean, the enclosed garden is perfect for soaking up the last of the Cornish sun. Enjoy al fresco feasts from the charcoal barbeque and settle down with a glass of fizz on the teak dining furniture as children and dogs let off some steam. As the sun sets, sink into the expansive cushioned rattan sofa and recharge for the following day.

An additional outdoor shower tucked away to the side of the home enables you to wash off and warm up before retreating indoors.
