Nestled in the heart of New Polzeath, The Cove is an excellent family holiday home with beach views. The garden path leads straight onto the coast path, so you can access Polzeath Beach or Baby Bay within minutes. Perfect for multi-generational family stays, this beachside home is set across one floor, so the bedrooms are easily accessed from the main living area.
The Cove benefits from a large lawned garden, an expansive decking area and an outdoor shower, so it’s well set up for outdoor living in the summer months. With a luxurious hot tub and cosy wood burner, it’s a comfortable haven when the weather takes a turn and the evenings draw in.
The beautiful open plan living space features high ceilings and large French doors, which open onto the decking. Crowned by industrial-style lighting, the kitchen has a huge central island for washing up with a view. An incredibly sociable space, the dining and living areas are set either side of the kitchen, allowing the group to separate off for some downtime within the same room.
Along from the open plan living area, the master bedroom has a super king bed and comes with its own en-suite. Overlooking the garden, the versatile second bedroom can be made up as a super king or twins, and the third bedroom has a double bed – both of which share the spacious family bathroom.
Just across the decking area is a separate annex, which is home to the fourth bedroom and an en-suite.
Surrounded by coastal walks and spectacular north coast beaches, The Cove is ideally situated for surfers, walkers and sunbathers. Spend long days on the beach, refuelling now and again at the laidback Surfside or TJ’s Surf Bar in Polzeath. For fine dining in the evening, head just along the coast to Rock or try the unforgettable foodie hub of Padstow.
The private path at the bottom of the garden leads straight onto the coast path and down to the water, so you can enjoy an early morning surf just minutes after waking up.

Light and spacious, the open plan living area leads onto the decked terrace and has wonderful sea views. The kitchen features graphite coloured units and stone worktops, and is kitted out with a double oven, induction hob, dishwasher, large fridge-freezer and a Nespresso coffee machine. Just to the side of the kitchen, the dining room has a large table for seafood feasts overlooking the sea.
With high ceilings and large French doors, the lounge is bright and breezy on summer days and transforms into a cosy den when the nights draw in. There’s a wall-mounted flat screen television with Freesat (for streaming from your iPad or iPhone), a DVD player, iPod dock and Bose speakers. The comfy sofas and stylish Scan wood burner create an atmospheric feel.
Please note: guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob as this can interfere with the device.
Master Bedroom and En-suite
With fitted wardrobes, views across the garden and a king size bed, the beautiful master bedroom is a haven for peace and quiet. The adjoining en-suite features a waterfall shower.
Bedroom Two
Practical and versatile, this bedroom includes a zip and link bed, so it can be made up as a super king or twins. There’s also a large chest of drawers and wardrobe for storage, and luscious views across the garden. Bedroom two shares the family bathroom with bedroom three.
Bedroom Three
Facing the front of the property, bedroom three has a double bed, built-in wardrobe and bedside cabinet. The family bathroom is just across the hallway.
Family Bathroom
Featuring a bath with a shower overhead, the family bathroom is shared by bedrooms two and three.
Bedroom Four with En-suite (Annex)
With a private entrance which can be accessed just across the decking, this bedroom is popular with teenagers or grandparents who are looking for a bit of their own space. The bed is a zip and link, so it can be made up as a super king or twins. There’s also a bedside cabinet, hanging unit and drawer unit. The wall-mounted flat screen television is also connected to a PS3, which provides hours of entertainment through gaming or playing films on Blu-rays and DVDs. There’s also a shower in the adjoining en-suite.
Utility Room and WC
There’s a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, along with a separate WC in the main hallway.
Garden, Decking and Hot Tub
Lovely and spacious, the rear garden is perfect for small children and dogs to let off some steam. When you’re not taking it easy in the hot tub* after a long day exploring, take to the decking with an al fresco feast from the gas barbeque and watch the waves roll in below. To cool down or clean up after a day on the beach, there’s also a handy external shower. The Cove’s garden is not completely dog proof, so please keep an eye out when they’re exploring.
*Please note: the hot tub is emptied and cleaned out after every booking. Occasionally this may result in the hot tub not being up to maximum temperature on the first night of your arrival. The hot tub may also require a mid-stay service or maintenance check.
Parking
There is space to park three cars inside the gated drive, with additional space outside on the private road.

One of Cornwall’s best surfing beaches, Polzeath is perfectly suited to families, bodyboarders and first-time surfers. The local surf schools offer high quality lessons and equipment hire, and George’s Surf School is a brilliant option for one-to-one tuition. A string of iconic beaches can be found along the coast path, including Greenaway, Daymer Bay and Rock. If you’re looking for adventure, we’d recommend coasteering with Cornish Rock Tors and kayak trips with Harlyn Surf School.
This stretch of North Cornwall is heavenly for walkers, with lovely routes from Polzeath to Daymer Bay and on towards Rock. Catch the water taxi from Rock to Padstow and spend the day walking or cycling the wonderfully scenic Camel Trail – there are plenty of options for lunch along the way. If golf is your activity of choice, head to the St Enodoc Golf Club in Rock. Alternatively, Trevose Golf Club and Bowood Golf Club are about 35 minutes away.
Polzeath is home to a plethora of beachside cafés for a quick snack or ice cream. We’d recommend The Waterfront or Cracking Crab for something a bit more substantial or the range of restaurants and pubs in Rock, including The Mariners. Padstow is just across the estuary from Rock, with award-winning options like Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 for special occasions. If you love trying out local tipples, then a full or half day experience with Cornish Wine Tours is not to be missed.
Just above Polzeath is the rustic-luxe Cowshed Spa at the St Moritz Hotel. The ultimate space to relax and unwind, opt for a quick beauty fix or an indulgent full or half day package. The St Enodoc Spa in Rock is a great alternative option for holiday pampering, with a range of restorative treatments on offer. Using a range of organic and natural luxury skincare, you're sure to leave feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated.
There are plenty of alternatives to family beach days nearby, including the Camel Creek Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm World, where little ones can meet the animals before letting off some steam in the indoor play area. Younger children will relish rainy days spent at the charming Old Macdonald’s Farm near Porthcothan. For history enthusiasts, we’d recommend a day trip to the mythical Tintagel Castle, which is about 35 minutes away by car.

We had such a fabulous week at this property. With views of the beach from our master bedroom, waking up was such a pleasure! Our four-year-old adored walking down the path to the beach every day and getting an ice cream or pasty.
The property was immaculate and the layout was just perfect for us as a family of five - whilst cooking in the open plan kitchen/living room, it brought us all together and we had a real family holiday. What a wonderful week packed full of lovely memories and such perfect accommodation. Light, spacious - every little detail is thought about and the Cornish tea and the milk and bacon in the fridge on arrival was a real treat and lovely welcome. Thank you for such a perfect stay!
”It's always difficult choosing where to take your family on holiday in the UK. Once you have chosen, the next decision is to put your trust in either a hotel, campsite or a self catering home. You can spend hours and hours trawling websites and getting a feel for what might be... If you're looking for a self catering home, Perfect Stays represent truly a first class service, first class properties and first class value.
We had a week at the fantastic Cove in Polzeath and were comforted that all of the pictures truly represented what was on offer. The experience working with the team at Perfect Stays has been a joy, not only the general booking but also the added extras on offer. Chefs, booking tables, and general advice. While you can't choose the weather, you can be in safe hands with Perfect Stays.
”We had a fantastic week at The Cove. It's a truly wonderful house in a great position in Polzeath. We were amazed by how quiet and secluded it felt given the very close proximity to the beach. Due to the variable weather we experienced wet, sunshine and heat during one week! It didn't seem to matter as the house is so well designed.
For surfers, the outside shower is just perfect. For the cooler evenings the log burning stove is lovely and so easy to use. There is plenty of shade for hot days. My teenage children thought the annex bedroom was very special - this was a massive plus! We didn't use the car all week. We walked to Pentire Head and around the coast to Rock. All walks do-able by a seven-year-old upwards. We found the quality of food and service from Trebetherick Stores excellent. We will certainly want to return!
”We have stayed at various properties in Polzeath for the past 20 years and this was one of the best. We particularly liked the welcome pack... my husband made it his challenge to work his way through the scones and cream! The other thing which really made a difference was the mattress in the master bedroom.... being able to get a good night's sleep made it a proper holiday! We will definitely recommend you to our friends and re-book in the future.
”Thank you very much for your excellent service and fabulous holiday property! Despite the 'mixed' weather, we had a brilliant stay at The Cove! We were already familiar with the area so knew that that would be a joy, but we were absolutely blown away by the house! I honestly can't fault it in any way - tons of space, immaculate presentation, bathrooms galore and every gadget and home comfort that we could possibly want.
The large enclosed garden was ideal for the dog who had enormous fun chasing - but thankfully never catching - the many rabbits that teased him from a safe distance on the lawn. The shower on the decking was a really useful extra after a day on the beach. We could hear the sea from the garden (bliss!) and the views were lovely. Would love to return or perhaps give another one of your wonderful properties a try next year.
”As you enter the property you are met with the most incredible sense of light through the house. The Cove has been decorated so nicely and has been kept beautifully clean - we almost didn't want to move anything to spoil it!
The outside space is well thought out with decking all the way around to make the most of the view. And what a view it is! The owners have thought of everything, including an outside shower which is great for when you come back from surfing or swimming in the sea. I cannot fault this house and its position. We've loved every minute and would love to come back. Top marks Perfect Stays!
”The Cove had ample indoor space and comfy surroundings. Outdoor space is also great - large garden for kids and dog to play. The position is absolutely excellent, we could be down to the beach in just over one minute and the view terrific.
”The place was just perfect.
