Aside from the half term at the end of the month, October is generally a quieter time to holiday in the South West, making it the best month to visit Cornwall if you're looking for tranquility. From Halloween to harvest festival, there’s much fun to be had in October in Cornwall. For little ones, The Eden Project celebrates ‘"Halloweden", with lots of family-friendly activities throughout October half term. The Spirit of Harvest takes place at The Lost Gardens of Heligan and is a delightful celebration of autumn's arrival.
The famous Fal Oyster Festival returns this year, running from the 8th – 11th of October. The event spreads across the harbour town and features live music, chef demonstrations and the highlight of the weekend has got to be eating the native Fal Oyster.
