Built to an impeccably high standard, striking architecture meets colourful interiors at Gwel an Treth in Sennen Cove. With vibrant Costa-Rican inspired furnishings and chic urban undertones, this property is a real labour of love, with every last detail chosen and sourced by hand.
Meticulously designed to maximise the panoramic views across the beach, step onto the first floor balcony and take in the white sands and turquoise ocean below. A true piece of paradise, you’ll never tire of watching the waves ebb and flow throughout the day.
The beautiful open plan living space is spread across the first floor. Taking centre stage, the double-sided wood burner with two wall-mounted Samsung TVs is a real conversation piece. The lounge features a large white corner sofa and enormous sliding doors which open onto the glass edged balcony.
The sociable kitchen and dining areas are great for entertaining, with a Sonos sound system and an induction hob mounted into the breakfast island – ensuring the designated cook doesn’t miss out on the fun. Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, the dining table feels like it juts out over the ocean and is adorned with statement black pendant lights. There are four en-suite bedrooms, one super king and four king.
With Caribbean-esque beaches, rugged coastal walks and tranquil stretches of countryside, experience a different side to Cornwall in this practically unspoilt location. Surfers will love the conditions at Sennen Cove, and there are so many must-visit attractions nearby – from Land’s End to The Minack Theatre, St Ives and Mousehole.
With sea views across the crescent bay and as far as the eye can see, Gwel An Treth is the perfect lookout spot for wave watching. Costa Rican inspired interiors feature pieces curated from across the globe, creating a warm and laid back feel.

Open Plan Kitchen and Dining Area
The immaculately designed kitchen features a Gaggenau induction hob inset into the kitchen island, facing those incredible views across the beach. The rest of the kitchen is extremely well equipped, with a Quooker boiling water tap, built-in Gaggenau coffee machine, wine cooler, Miele oven, steam oven, two warming drawers, a dishwasher and a fridge-freezer.
Please note: guest with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob as it can interfere with the device.
The focal point of the dining area is the iconic Guanacaste dining table, made from protected Guanacaste tree from Costa Rica. These trees can only be used as furniture if they fall from natural causes. A celebratory meal around this table will certainly make for a memorable occasion, backed by far reaching sea views.
Living Area
An irresistibly comfortable, oversized corner sofa occupies the far side of the room, and is perfect for soaking up the views, socialising or watching a movie on the Samsung Smart TV, complete with Apple TV, Blu-Ray Player and a full Sky HD package. The whole open plan kitchen, dining and living area benefits from a Sonos sound system and toasty wood burner.
Bedroom One with En-suite
This king size room is adorned with vibrant pops of colour and enjoys its own wet room-style en-suite and flat screen TV.
Master Bedroom with En-suite
This room is a celebration of the craftsmanship that really sets Gwel an Treth apart. Finished with authentic stone tiles and beautifully utilised woods, the generous dressing area has been created from luxurious walnut. A plush super king bed is perfectly positioned to revel in the never-ending views. Throw open the glass doors and invite the fresh sea air into the room before savouring a morning coffee at the Spanish cedar table on the patio just outside. The en-suite is also finished in rich walnut tones and comes with an unusual double sink. The freestanding bath and rainfall shower provide plenty of pampering opportunities.
Bedroom Two with En-suite
Bedroom two is a bright, king size garden room with lots of natural light, ample storage and a flatscreen TV with Apple TV. The en-suite wet room features a large rainfall shower. All bathrooms in Gwel an Treth feature hand cut stone tiles sourced from Miami and San Francisco.
Bedroom Three with En-suite
This colourful king size room enjoys beautiful sea views and embodies the Costa Rican influence that is found around the rest of Gwel and Treth, with rustic reclaimed wood furnishings and splashes of colour. Sliding doors lead out onto the patio for sunny al fresco breakfasts. A cool, neutral-tiled en-suite comes with a wet room-style rainfall shower.
Bedroom Four with En-suite
This king size room also enjoys the same sea views as bedroom three and the master bedroom. The patio doors lead out onto the terrace, where a spiral staircase leads up to the first floor balcony. This bedroom boasts a luxurious en-suite wet room-style shower.
Garden
Gwel an Treth is built into a steep hillside, perched overlooking Sennen Cove and Gwithian. For this reason, the external areas of Gwel an Treth are split over four levels, from the parking area round to the front patio and lawns. There are some steep drops, so children should be supervised at all times.
Soak up the sun and recline on the loungers with a good book and enjoy the gas barbeque at sunset before nestling around the fire pit to toast marshmallows. Blessed with minimal light pollution, astronomy aficionados will relish the stars that reveal themselves on clear nights. For days spent soaking up the Cornish sea, rinse off sandy toes and salty skin in the outdoor shower.
Parking
There is parking for four cars on the driveway.

The Old Success Inn serves traditional pub food, The Little Bo Café specialises in breakfast and lunch, while The Blue Lagoon and 190 Degrees West are great options for fish and chips. For some wonderful seafood restaurants, head to Mousehole or Newlyn, which are both less than 15 minutes by car. If you love wine, Polgoon Vineyard in Penzance makes a brilliant day out, filled with crisp tastings and friendly tours.
Geevor Tin Mine is a brilliant family friendly option for a rainy day, with guided tours offering an insight into what daily life was like for Cornish tin miners. Another memorable activity for the children is a trip out to sea with Marine Discovery in Penzance. Climb aboard one of their boats and go in search of dolphins, basking sharks, sunfish, porpoises and seals all the while exploring hidden gems of the West Cornwall coastline.
Due to its clear light and spectacular surroundings, the nearby Newlyn has always been a popular destination for artists. The Newlyn School of Art offers a range of short courses and evening sessions, which are fantastic options for creative holidays. Cornwall’s world-famous open-air Minack Theatre is also just a 15 minute drive away. Open to day visitors as well as theatre goers, it has breathtaking views over the ocean. A visit to Cornwall wouldn’t be complete without exploring the beautiful St Michael’s Mount.
Relax and unwind at the gorgeous St Ives Harbour Hotel Spa, which is under 40 minutes away by car. Alternatively, the C Bay Spa at The Carbis Bay Hotel offers a wonderful setting for indulgence. With sea views and an incredibly tempting pamper menu, you're sure to leave feeling completely refreshed. The C Bay Spa and St Ives Harbour Spa both boast incredible views over the bay, offering high quality treatments and full use of their leisure facilities.
Newlyn Fish Festival is an annual event which raises an extraordinary amount of money for local causes. The day is filled with fish displays, cooking demonstrations, harbour events and music. ”We had the most wonderful week in Sennen Cove. The house was outstanding - very stylish and most comfortable. The view was breathtaking and we were so pleased that 3 of the 5 bedrooms enjoy the view. The living area is spacious, has everything we needed for our stay and being there in winter, we made the most of the lovely woodburner too. The host of the house was extremely helpful and welcomed us with a very generous basket of treats (breads, scones, biscuits etc). It was our first visit to Cornwall and we enjoyed it so much, it most definitely won't be our last.
