To kickstart the planning for next year’s stay, we’ve handpicked some special holiday moments and paired them with our best-suited properties for 2023. Right: Shun Lee in St Ives
Picture it now: sitting on the veranda with an ice cold beer in hand, watching the children roam free in the garden. If there’s one home you visit with the family next summer, be sure to make it The Paddock. Not only does it combine spectacular views over North Cornwall’s coast and country, there’s a large grassy garden with a slide and swing set, plus an outdoor kitchen, fire pit and pizza oven. Six bedrooms provide plenty of space for adults and children to spread out, while a rustic style games room awaits at the bottom of the garden for evening table tennis. Within a short walk, you’ll find the Port William pub which sits proudly on the coast path overlooking Trebarwith Strand. All the while, Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel sit a short car ride away.
For holidays in St Ives or Marazion, our properties Shun Lee and Ednovean House both enjoy sweeping sea views in two of Cornwall’s most picturesque locations. Looking out over St Ives Harbour, Shun Lee is home to a cinema room and pool table, while Ednovean House’s open plan design makes it easy to prepare summer lunches in the kitchen, ready to enjoy al fresco.
Right: Compass Point in Coverack
If your idea of summer is spending days with your feet in the sand and salt on your skin, Cornwall is the natural choice for coastal getaways. Home to over 300 beaches, its thriving watersports scene, miles of walking routes and incredible seafood restaurants mean you’ll never run low on things to do.
Mere footsteps from Polzeath Beach, Treasure House is well-suited to surf stays and family breaks, where guests can be in the sea within minutes of waking up. Think open plan living, gorgeous neutral interiors, a games room and an outdoor shower – essential after a week of lessons with George’s Surf School.
A new addition to our Harlyn Bay portfolio, Poldhu sits high above the beach, while still enjoying mesmerizing sea views from the hot tub and lookout lounge. Take to the coast path at the end of the lane and be the first on the beach each morning.
Further down west in Coverack, Compass Point (pictured above) is another showstopper that promises clear waters right on the doorstep. Always popular with guests, take advantage of our select weeks ready to book for May and July 2023.
Left: Eden in Downderry
Mark those long-awaited occasions in style next summer and clink glasses in front of the ocean. There’s nothing like reuniting with close friends, good food and chilled wine, for which Trelorna provides the perfect setting. Brand new to our portfolio this week, it overlooks Polzeath and sleeps 10. Fall into a cloud of bubbles in the cedar-clad hot tub, dream up your favourite cocktails in the bar and feel the warmth of the sun on your skin from one of two balconies. We’ve just released our dates for both 2022 and 2023, so now’s the time to plan ahead and enlist our Concierge team for their private chef recommendations.
Another Perfect Stays newcomer – this time on the south coast – Eden’s three bedrooms, outdoor resistance pool and sparkling sea views make it a tempting refuge for couples and groups of friends. Our favourite feature is the covered terrace, where you can dine al fresco while being protected from the elements.
Meanwhile, lovers of Mawgan Porth will feel instantly at home inside Prennek House. Its suntrap garden and open plan kitchen lend themselves to special celebrations. Slide open the vast glass doors to reveal views over the beach and countryside. Add a Cornish charcuterie board and a bottle of something local, and Prennek presents the best of both worlds.
Right: Gwel Arvor in Port Isaac
Swap the city streets for rows of fisherman’s cottages, breathe deeply and fill your lungs with Cornish air. Tucked away into a quiet pocket of Port Isaac, Gwel Arvor is an interior designed home-from-home. The living area looks out over the ocean and leads straight onto the terrace and garden, where fresh seafood suppers await from one of the nearby delis.
Loved by Giovanna Fletcher and her family, Morning Tide is another home that allows you to truly switch off. What we love most is the feeling of having your own private paradise, while being walking distance from Constantine Bay Beach. Truly unique in its British Colonial interiors, feel yourself sink into one of five sumptuous bedrooms, or break away from the group with a G&T on the veranda.
For those who’ve had their coastal fill, escape to the country at Nightjar. A gorgeous setting for summer stays, the surrounding fields are dotted with grazing ponies – a view to savour during twilight dips in the hot tub.
Left: Tamarisks in Hope Cove
With all the excitement that the ‘big’ summer holiday brings, we understand you need some time to yourself too. Whether it looks like a solo swim at the nearby beach or an evening bubble bath while the kids are in bed, many of our properties make it easy to steal some time away.
Take Tamarisks in Hope Cove for example – a magnificent family home that sleeps up to 16, but still makes space for relaxation. When we visited for our Perfect Stays team stay, we loved curling up in the window seat and doing nothing but watch the tides. Pluck something new from the bookshelf or listen to your favourite playlist through the soundbar, so you can return home feeling refreshed and well rested. One of our most popular Devon homes, we have one peak week remaining at Tamarisks for next summer, from the 7th – 14th July 2023.
Or if Padstow piques your interest, look no further than Kilden Mor. Designed by the owners to be a private oasis on the outskirts of town, there’s a spiral staircase that takes you from the kitchen and living space, straight down to the garden. While friends relax, peel open the sliding doors in the master bedroom and tiptoe towards the hot tub as the sun goes down.
If you're planning your 2023 getaway and have questions about any of the properties above, please get in touch with our team. Our Property Advisors are available on 01208 895 570 and excited to start planning your next year's adventures. We also have an in-house Concierge team, on hand to make restaurant reservations or day trip itineraries and make your stay truly perfect.
